Got a call from him about 10 minutes ago.
He's laying on the odeon roundabout. Hit a car apparently, I think physically he's ok, said his ankle hurt but nothing too serious from the sounds of it. Going to hospital though.
Said the side of the R6 is pretty battered, as is his very expensive blue flame can (which I'll add I advised against for this very reason).
He couldn't have picked a worse time really, I hope this doesn't affect his compensation claim from his last accident, but it will probably mean he's not riding at silverstone, and his mum will go absolutely crazy!
Poor guy.

I suspect it was one of those "It wasn't my fault" kind of affairs, but a little forward thinking could have easily avoided it.

Like my crash. It wasn't my fault... but it was because I wasn't planning far enough ahead.
Perhaps some IAM lessons may be in order.

Just had a text from him, the bike is ok, needs a new crank case apparently and it'll be fine... he's just got a sprained ankle so will be on for Silverstone.

Yeah he's just sprained, and a bike shop owner is looking after his bike, so no police recovery fees.
He lowsided aswell, no car involved, apparently I got the wrong end of the stick. He said "I hit something on the roundabout" which apparently he meant diesel or something.
Silverstone looks touch and go, but possible.
And I havn't seen the bike, I'm in Bristol, he's in Chelmsford.

Afternoon all, just got home from my dads.
Tis stupid, came onto the odeon roundabout just comming off and the rear wheel just slipped out, low sided it up the road.
Mainly cosmetic damage, like scratched fairings, broken crank case, scratched levers, scratched link pipe and can, which annoyed me the most.
I managed to pick the bike up on my own then an older teenager helped me push it to the side of the road. An old granny stayed with me till a guy on a KTM stopped off and waited with me. Rang my dad who came down and also an ambulance car came. I went off in the abulance car to A&E.
Luckily a bike garage van drove past and came back and took the bike to their shop which was just up the road.
I've only sprained some of the ligaments in my left food but it hurts alot and i can't walk on it.
Went back to see the bike, ordered a new crank case in, cost me £47 and £2 for gasket. The guy reckons i came off as the tyres are old and worn, and reckoned that i used a part of the tyre that hasnt been used in ages and it slipped out.
I'm not sure if that was him trying to get me to buy new tyres off him or the real reason. It could be, but its strange as i wasn't going for KD i just leant it over. And why have i had it over on the last 3 days and its not slid out before?!
Has miffed me off, was meant to be going down to bristol on fri to see gaz and then down to taunton on the sat to stay with the misses. Now got to get a train or bus. Altho gaz said he'd take me to taunton from bristol, which is nice.
Silverstone i still want to do. And am going to do my foot excersises every day and hope it'll be better by the sunday.
Some of the other questions answered; i've been riding on the road for just under 2 years, and already got the advanced riding courses in my mind, was booking them up for in the summer after uni finishes and im back in essex properally.
Looks like no vinegar burgers tonight :(

Forgot to add a policeman came to see me just before i went in for an x-ray. Was a nice chap. He owns a ZX6r. It won't effect my payout, don't need to inform my insurance and the police aren't looking in to it

No its not there, altho this bike shop sdoes look dodgy.
Its up springfield road. Comming from the small mini roundabout by tesco, go up springfield road. Before you get to the traffic lights on the right hand side theres a one way road called trinity road. You have to go up navigation road then turn left and left again to get to it.

Pauls just told me that the geezer who stopped and picked him up out of the kindness of his heart, has now charged him £15 for the privelidge?! Is it just me, or is that cheeky as ****?!
So this geezer has basically seen a bike crash and decided he can make some money so started helping out. What a nice guy, **** using him for any work. That just screams integraty doesn't it.

At the end of the day he does run a business. But i just thought it was a bit checky as he didn't mention it till the afternoon when i went in to talk about costs of the crank case. They seem to stay quite when it comes to costs
Gazdaman
06-04-2006, 11:22 PM
He gained business out of you for picking the bike up. What a penis.
Although even if it is cheeky, it's a lot cheaper than the police impound prices. I had to pay over £100 to get the MZ back when it was stolen.
