I am thinking of attending the bikesafe event in Maldon, but I have a worry. I have a genuine Triumph can on my Daytona but I think its for 'race use only';)

How do the police address these issues on a bikesafe day?
Anyone been before?
Oh I suppose the visor question should be raised also.

Any exhaust systen does not have to have a stamp that says "for road use". If it is marked "for race use only" then that is what it is for. On an MOT, it is subjective. In the mind of the tester, is the can "noisier" than the standard is the guideline.

In the "good old days" I remember being stopped by a bike cop then having to be at an old airfield where the cops had a testing station to measure exactly the dbs at 1m from the bike. I don't believe they have this facility anymore.

Basically, I think what I am saying is that if it is not stamped for "race use only" you would probably be ok.

i would have thought they'd be going all out to be as nice as possible tbh, i'd expect a bit of ribbing in a not-so-jokey way but no hassle.......until they spy you on the way home! :grin2
