1998 Kawasaki ZX9R C1 on an S Plate with 16700 miles on the clock.

12 months MOT (it sailed through without any observations)
Tax till end of July

Service book and owners manual and a few receipts

Immaculate condition barring a few chips on the gold wheels, a stone chip on the front fairing and a newly acquired "nick" out of the rear hugger, a small scuff to the carbon tank protector and also where my right knee "gripped" the side of the tank :D (oh yes it gripped alright!).

However

Recently dynoed at 142.8 at the wheel, i have the earlier dyno printout showing 140 at the wheel (i didnt bother getting the second print out after the needles were set up properly).

Last service at 13200 miles however it was done by the garage that i got it from and the book isnt stamped for it (they threw the service in with the bike price).

Continental Sport Attack tyres that were fitted in November, bike was then put away until a month ago so have only done around 500 miles on them.

Full Akrapovic stainless steel system with Road legal carbon end can
Stage 1 dynojet kit - fitted November
K&N Air filter - fitted November

Stainless brake lines front and rear
New 'HH' front pads 200 miles ago

Dark Tint Double bubble screen, and original blue screen to match the bike.

Pyramid undertray - Colour matched
Pyramid hugger - Colour matched (have original chain guard)
Pyramid tail light clip - Colour matched
Rear Seat cowl - Colour matched (have pillion seat)
Mini indicators front and rear
Smaller plate and tail tidy, not likely to get you into trouble though as the lettering is only just smaller than legally required.

Harris Exhaust hanger (and original pillion footrests)

Gold mesh fitted to fairing sides

Airbrushed paintwork, all decals are airbrushed and not lacquered decals
(previous owner painted it but not due to having dropped her!)

Used for the last 3000 miles as a commuter on an 80 mile round trip up the dual carriageway so it certainly hasnt had a hard life while i have had it, and in truth its too fast and powerful to be a commuter with so much rear wheel power.

On a commute it will give 160 miles to the tank before needing to swap to reserve.

Lastly it has a Meta 357T alarm and fob with certificate.

Price £3200 ovno

Swirly plate is only available in picture form :D

and if i get my way i am after [dream mode on] a Colin Edwards RSV or a Haga RSV[/dream mode off].

but i will gladly settle for a 2003 RSVR possibly in yellow :)

I have decided however that if my Mille is going anywhere near a track then i want another for normal use :)

if its to someone i know through here i will sell it for £3000, if its a private sale or Ebay then the reserve will be set at £3000 to try and get the more realistic £3200 ;)

when you add into the fact that this had its carbs set up in November for the stage 1 kit, factor in that its got a full stainless Akrapovic system and the new tyres, in reality it only needs an oil and filter change.

A bargain at £3000 :D

Evnin Shifty..,
I was readin an article in one of the bike mags the other week about buyin bikes off ebay..
Accordin to their research people are actually payin 200-300 quid over the market prices on ebay compared to places like MCN paper and various other bike advertisin mags.
Anyway, after pickin various bikes here and there from different places, they were right. Other than the odd (rare) bargain on ebay, the national mags were actually cheaper.
Knowin what your like, you probly already know this...lol, but just thought i'd mention it, (for those who might not..).
Anyway, hope ya find ya dream bike..
J.

to be honest this is why i was going to sling it on Ebay and set the reserve at £3000, i have a feeling if it really pushed i could see £3495 for this bike seeing as it has only done under 17,000 miles, but £3000 is the absolute bottom i will go to ;)

Well after seeing another side of her last night (the fast one :D :D :D ) it seems almost a shame to get rid of her, but there you have it :)

Next time you do an advert like that, you might want to stick some text with it. ;)

Good luck with it.

Got a bit of a dilemma here, i got shed loads of people listed as watching it, and some guy has put a starting bid on it too, but the same guy is trying to offload 2 R1 track bikes, they are both setup for the track and both run fine seemingly, he has his listed as buy it now for £2550 and for that you get to turn up at his place and take your pick, or for around £4000 you get the both :D :D

I dont doubt i will get the £3000 i want for mine, in fact i could probably convince the guy to give me one of them plus some cash i suppose if i wanted it, which would give me some spare for a trailer, but do i really want an R1 for doing track days????? :D

(when in reality i really would like an RS250 :D )

Speaking totally from a novice point of veiw:grin2 . An R1 is a good bike for a track day but also bloody quick !!! If it was me I would be very tempted....but....would probably look at an RS simply because Im not experianced enuff on the track to use that sort of power ! Start small then progress is my motto !!!
Probably dont help but thought Id give my bit !:clap

trust me, unless we are talking about cars, nearly everyone on here now has more track time than me! :D

an RS250 is about the right sort of bike to suit my riding in truth, i dont mind keeping the revs high to start with, but i also like the power coming out of a bend and being able to just stamp on the gear change to slow the bike so really should be looking to stay with a twin :D

I feel like a woman with a free trip to the clothes shops :D

By the way. Wasnt saying the RS isnt fast....it bloody is........just a more controllable bike power wise. And they turn on a sixpence !!!!:clap

The R1 will not have the engine braking you are talking about, plus I find the R1/6 a bit extreme on the wrists for me (and you are bigger still!). Depends on what he has done to the bikes I suppose. An older R1 will wheelspin off the line in first but not have the same top end (sounds good) whereas a newer one is geared more for outright speed. I would go for the Yam myself, but then I know you love your stroker 'prilias. Go and have a look see before you make a decision.

i'd stick smaller for a first track day too, i speak from experience here, i had a TOTAL blast on my CBR400 as you well know, and yes i was slower than the others on the straights but i wasn't much slower through the corners.

i'd love an RS250 and am seriously thinking about getting an RGV250 to add to my little collection

You're a quick rider mate, but an R1 is extreme by anyone's standards. If it was an R6 I'd say snap it up now!

250 2 strokes are an absolute hoot, but you've gotta pick your track carefully or I think they'll soon get tiresome. Especially coming from your background of big powerfull bikes.

Prez might well be doing the next track day on a 400 :D

So we'll have a chance to see just how well he gets round a track on something that size - he'll rape it no doubt ;) :D which may or may not prove that his first track bike should be at the lower end of the scale...

If he was a smaller build, perhaps a 250 would be ok... but he dwarfs my 400, so I disagree with starting small simply because he needs something bigger to get round comfortably on....

my dad rides my CBR at the slightest provocation, looks a bit cramped on it but loves it! he's 6 foot tall (I know the tall genes must have had an off day) and gets on fine. i think he'd struggle if he had to ride it all day but the fun factor overrides the comfy factor i think

Lateshift

I have ridden her bike to work plenty of times (and probably a lot harder than i do my own too :D :D :D ) and to be perfectly honest whilst i am probably at the heavier stockier end for someone riding a 400 i feel perfectly comfortable on it, probably because the lower height feels more secure for throwing it about, the only problem i will have with a lighter lower bike is the fact that i will probably get too confident on it, especially with the tyres she has just got for it :D

The fairings are bought, i will get some crash bungs for it in the week too and we will see about getting some new levers and pegs too.

It gets a full service and shim check at the beginning of May and then its getting raped! :D

(that reads coaxed round the small track my little dove :D ;) ).

absolutely gobsmacked,

30 people watching the advert, 7 in the last hour of the auction, and it doesnt reach the reserve that its clearly marked at :D :D

some people must be blind :D

oh well buy it now it goes on, it needs shifting :D
