View Full Version : Xeon bulbs
I think thats what they are called, anyway.
The really bright white ones that a lot of new cars have.
Can you get them for bikes, does anyone know?
Cheers!

The really bright ones you are probably thinking of HID lights ;)
But yes you can get Xeon bulbs for bikes, you just have to be careful if your headlight has a plastic cover to it instead of glass as it can melt it on some bikes :D
The HID conversion can be done but it isnt cheap ;)

do you mean hid lights? (high intensity discharge) you can get a kit for bikes, i think its about £350. buts its quite bulky as you need a box for the gizmos it has.
you can also get xeon bulbs, from most places like halfords. but if you want cool bulbs get iridium ones, i had them and theyre great for crap weather and have all the colours of the rainbow

Is it just me or does anyone find them ultra bright white headlights really horrible to drive towards. They seem to me as bad as high-beam regular ones!
Really blinding.

i hate them. they blind me..i sometimes feel like wiping feces onto the lights to dim them down a bit.

hahahahaha!! Your'll probably need a set of 2-piece leathers for that.
i hate cars that use high frequency hids... you know the where you look in your mirror and they look blue... you look at your speedo and think oh **** i'm about to get pulled...

hi or are you on about xenon gas H7 headlight replacement bulbs??
like powerplus bulbs
they give out up to 50% more light a longer beam and we all could do with a little more in length! costs vary from around £15-25
safe with plastic headlight covers as they have a filter fully road legal and best of all I have a pair in my bike and they are a good improvement over o/e bulbs.
plus if you want a pair i have a set for sale £15 to you guv...inc P&p
these are not the blue tinted lights these are brighter the blue xenon offer about 30% increase..
