best photo i can get.
as u can see the exhaust is damaged, the subframe has snapped off, the number plate is touching the top of the undertray. the guy down at the local bike shop is doing all the work for me, and he is estimating it at about £2000, not sure if thats including labour. (thank f*ck i aint paying for it).....what i dont get is there isnt a scratch on the seat unit, i thought that would have been smashed to bits.
for those of you who weren't at the pub last nite.....i got knocked off on tuesday, by some stupid cow who obviously wasnt paying any attention to other road users. i was sitting in traffic and all of a sudden she came up behind me and knocked into me pretty hard, my bike was pratically under her car, she had parked it on my swingarm and the seat unit was resting on her bonett. for those of u who no me i dont take kindly to people who touch my bike, but i new my little precious was hurt so i stayed calm lol!!!

:angrypun Only a little bit of damage then!!!??
OMG! It's a miracle you didn't end up under her poxy car! It's funny don't you think, that most of the recent accidents have been caused by women drivers? Not to slate my own kind and all that, but it's kinda funny don't you think.
How do you feel about the fact that you're bike has to be rebuilt as such? so it's not in its original state? Some people lose a little bit of love and I know how much love you have for your bike :)
I surprised you didn't give her a knuckle sandwich to be honest, but then I suppose an assault charge isn't what you want on top of a broken bike :(
Hope they get your preshus back on the road soon - you just don't look right on a tank!! :) x

ye it all seems to be women lol....dont like to slate me own kind either!!!
im all right though, hard as nails me hehe
i feel so lost without her, i love my bike so much, and all ways will. i loved her even more after the track day. at least the damage can be repaired. work should start on it next week....there even gonna get a brand new akropovic exhaust as well, so i had to go give em the baffle, just incase the engineers wanted to hear it running.

hey girl so sorry to hear that happen! i think back to all the accidents in the past 6 months i think everyone has had one! inclkuding me! and i know normally its 50/50 like we were speeding or doing summink silly but the recent ones are all there faults and i all i can say is car drivers are out to get us!
As soon as the sun comes out car/van/lorry drivers lose there brains, seen 3 bike accidents in the last 2 days, all hit up the arse.
The main thing is your OK.
Iv just ordered some mitsubishi shogun bull bars for my r6.So watch out car drivers I'm coming for YOU.See how you like getting t-boned you **** heads

Awwww Bekki I recall vividly when the Gixxer had her mishap !! I love her more now we've been through the wars and the main thing is that you are in one piece and OK, and a tank the Bandit may be but at least you can stretch your legs on it till your baby is back on the road....
I dont like slating us lady drivers but the simple fact is too many women drivers have cars too big for them or dont know that the mirrors are used for checking for other road users etc.....not putting your feeking make up on and steering with your knees at 70mph!!....lololol :laugh1 :laugh1

i actually dont no if they will repair it or not until tuesday. im getting worried now, even the bike shop saying its coming close to a write off.....i dont no how, its not damaged beyond repair. and how much will they pay for it to be repaired......this sucks. why are some people spastics!!!!

06-05-2006, 11:29 AM
Hi Becky , insurance companys normaly work on a percentage basis , it doesnt need to be more than the bikes value to write it off I think its about 2/3rds of the bikes value when it becomes uneconomical to repair but it is your bike dont forget and argue with them if you do want it repaired, the other option is money in lou of repair which means you keep the bike and they pay you for the bike minus the value of the bike in its damaged state and the bike doent become a write off and you just repair it your self. your options depend on what you want or if they do write it off make sure you get full market value and dont take there excuses why the offer is low
becky
06-05-2006, 11:35 AM
if it did get written off and they paid out the market value. would i be able to buy it back off them, for a lower price coz it'll be smashed up. but then if i did buy it off them and get it insured again would the insurance be higher because it would have been a write off? also if i come to sell it on will it be harder to sell?
Becky, glad your OK, both Dawn (Auroredj) and Graeme (Whippet) got knocked off by car drivers (well taxi drivers:mad:  ) and they claimed on the other drivers Insurance, they did not involve there own Insurance company's.
I'm not sure how it all works, but I'd go down the route that it wasn't your fault, so you want the bike repaired no matter the cost, why should you lose out, your victim here........... Just my two pence worth

Becky it will be harder to sell and it also depends on what write off catagory they class it in , buying it back can be a mine feild you would have to surrender the v5c then repair it , get it checked by vosa to make sure its the same bike then reapply for the log book and get it moted, its a long winded to try and stop cars and bikes being ringed etc if they wont repair or do money in lou of repair I would walk away it would be easier but , I would try and get it repaired if thats what you want dont back down it wasnt your fault remember fight it all the way

Drew......I think you should think before you rite things like that ! Weve been down this road before. Everyone has there own opinion on drivers and just cos someone puts TAXI drivers in a post dont mean you can chuck a personal insult ! Not only that........if you read the post properly all SDM was pointing out was that the two accidents involved TAXI DRIVERS ! That was a fact........not an insult !
If you want to make enemys then go ahead....but personaly considering we are all on here for the same reason I think you should stop taking offence to things that obviously arent directed at you (or your dad!!!!!)
One day you might insult the wrong person !

i also got a phone call from the other drivers insurance company and they have sent me a cheque for £200 quid, compensation apparently, but im ringing up my soliciters tommoro, coz i could get more money out of them, we'll see. the lady who spoke to me said i understand that our party is at fault, but when i told my dad that they are sending me a cheque he rang them back and spoke to another lady who says that no one has claimed liability yet as we havnt received the lady's claim form.....so its all a bit wierd.
