....who's good? or who's cheap?

I use Ebike insurance, they were good for me and good for my 16 year old on a moped, but crap for Andy on his vfr with claim and 3 points.

Carole Nash. The best. Simple as. Tell them your cheapest quote and they will beat it. And you get free breakdown assistance, Eu Cover, Personal insurance, legal expenses etc etc etc.

Ebike
H&R Insurance
Carole Nash
Bennetts

H&R and Ebike have been the cheapest by quite a way for me in the past :)

Depends on what you are buying, where you live, how many years you have been riding, have you had big bikes before, points etc etc

BUT ........

Motorcycle Direct
Carol Nash
Bennetts
Yamaha Insurance Services ( for Yamahas ) can be good.
ebike

I normally get at least 5 or 6 quotes.

By the way, on my new 2006 FZ1, I went with Yamaha Insurance and I am paying £300 fully comp with lid / leather cover, legal cover, breakdown cover and am insured and covered for breakdowns / punctures uk and europe.

My 05 R1 was £470 with motorcycledirect for basically the same policy.

I currently have 4 years NCB after a 2 year break from bikes.

i'm through Equity Red Star as well, via Devitt. good customer service (mostly) when i have been adding bikes on an almost monthly basis :grin2

express insurance were good as well (my car is insured through them too, only £20 more than Devitt but for some stupid reason they wouldn't match Devitt's quote so i went with Devitt.

there's a quote machine on autotrader

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/BIKES/motoring/ins/insurance-centre-bikes.jsp

quite good, you put all your details in once and off it goes....

i'm paying £800 fully comp at the moment but that's based on the 748, CBR and CB. i was quoted £550 somewhere for the 748 but had already started my current policy and it would have cost a fortune to cancel it so i stayed where i was.

i've got no no claims because i hadn't ridden for 6 years before i started again in septemeber but have had my licence 10 years

I'm not even going to mention how much my insurance is, it'd make you feel a whole lot better though!

I got mine thru Express insurance, £300 3rd party, fire and theft on a vfr400, had my licence 2years, never had insurance for a proper bike, lost all my ncb for my ped coz i havent had insurance for a few years. I havent any points or claims. but i also havent had any riding experience as far as the insurance company is concerned! Always worth ringing as many as you can and keeping a record of who quotes you what, make sure you get the best quote!

i would recomend h+r for price. i have just been quoted £621 for tpft on a 2001 zx6r. the next best price i could get was £1587 from devvit. about £900 more. but h+r might like youngsters with colourfu histories.

and btw, im not getting a zx6r. it was just out of interest.

i went through these people http://www.premiumchoice.co.uk/Default.aspx?tid=49

I had to sign up to mcnnijas.co.uk and then ask for Ronnie. He does deals for members of that forum he beat the cheapest quote i'd got by about £60 and added some of the extras to the policy.

Everybody raves about carol nash but the first ever quote i had from them was £50 more expensive than the cheapest quote i had at the time and they said they couldn't beat it!

Not tried them since.

Bennets was the cheapest for me last year, just watch their excess ;)
