Firstly the ride to Gaz’s in Bristol was absolutely horrible, I’ve never had such a sore ass in all my life. Anyway onto the track, arrived early in the morning, sun was shining away

I got signed in to intermediate group, had the briefing etc and out on the track. A small technical track that really focused on hard braking.

I was loving being in the inters, I was a bit worried I wouldn’t be fast enough but it really wasn’t a problem and I found myself lapping people, one 15 minute session I lapped 7 guys!! There's loads ok KD left and right and in one bit you go left, right, left, right and Gaz got running shots of it…

Then after 4 sessions in the inters, they asked me if I wanted to go up into the fastest group, aka the advance group as they said I was really smooth round the track and fast, so I was a bit worried but thought what the hey, it was a really big confidence boost as they picked me out of the whole group and came to find me to move me up. So I headed back out after a little break for about 45 minutes.
Started this session, one warm up lap then over the next 2 laps I overtook 2 guys, then at the end of the third lap I thought id go past a guy on a triumph on the brakes going into the bus stop. This was always so hard on the brakes as your coming in at around 130 into a right angled bend, anyway I had him, and Gaz said he was cheering cos id done him but then…. I grabbed too much front brake and lost the front end, I think the tyres hadn’t yet warmed enough.

damage was next to none for the bike which was amazing as it went down hard and slid for a good 100yards, we rekon I went down at about 40-50mph. I landed head and shoulder first so the lid needs to be replaced…

also my leathers are worn almost all the way through but they look kinda cool, and I lost a fair old bit of skin off my elbow and hip.
But all things considered it was an awesome day, just could have ended on a better note. Plus Podd had a great day so I’m pleased for him too.
