Just been building bike up ready for MOT.

Took a couple of days off work to get it finished and am only left with a couple of probs.
When I switch ignition on I get no oil light. The dash bulb is ok as I swapped it for one that works definately, the oil level is correct, I checked the wires going to the sender unit and they seem fine and give a reading on the multimeter with ignition on. So does this mean it is the sender unit ?

The other problem could be related, it is the neutral light. It stays on all the time no matter what gear is selected. I know these two are connected in some way so am not sure which is the problem or is it both ?
Also today the indicators worked then didnt work then worked then quit altogether I checked all the connections and there is a reading up to the relay box which changes when switch is operated. So I am going to order new box tomorrow.

The bike didnt run when I bought it, but to best of memory all lights and stuff did. It had been stood a while before I bought it and I have had it a while also so I know things tend to seize up with time. Anyway any help would be greatly appeciated. My mrs passe her CBT recently and am going to let her ride it when these probs are fixed.

for reference, if you can list what the solution was, at least then anyone else looking for the same fix can find it on here ;)

Well the neutral light was my fault totally, Id actually eathed the wire by accident when I put the bike back together. Refitted it to the neutral switch and it worked fine.

The oil light was a faulty sender unit in the two stroke tank. I took it out cleaned it and hand operated it which got the light to work but it was not 100%, sometimes worked sometimes didnt. I ended up ordering one from local bike shop, cost me £30 but fixed problem. The bike passed its MOT last Saturday with just an advisory for tread depth on front tyre. I was pretty happy. The bike has run well with my mrs riding it for last few days up till this afternoon when it cut out and would not start. There was no spark at the plug, the plug looked ok but the only option I had was to get another plug and hope it worked, luckily it started up fine. My only worry is the plug I replaced was brand new, had only been in the bike for a few days with maybe 5 hours running on it. Any ideas on why it chewed it up so quick ?

could try using as colder rated plug i suppose? sometimes the standard plug designed for a particular bike (especially on 2 strokes) can't handle the heat, using a colder plug can help sort a few of the problems on 2 strokes that are similar to this :)
