well after spending sunday in my usual place (garden shed  ) I now don't need a CDi or Stator plate assembly. I have managed to arse about with it all and get a spark!, good strong blue one too....how relieved am I?.
I still need the other bits tho sometime?!

Hi,

You may be able to get a barrel and lock set from a breakers, or someone like West Coast salvage (check the site for their number) - but its doubtful that they will have the keys.

Your best bet is to buy a new barrel (and tank cap) kit from Here (http://www.patternparts.net/stock_refine.asp?model=18&category=13&model_go.x=12&model_go.y=8)
As for the other bits, check out West Coast Salvage... unless anyone else on here has a screen and mirror.... does your bike have a screen Tim? - hes selling a load of TZR bits at the moment to make space in the garage for a new toy... so he may be able to help you.

FYI - Pattern parts do your mirrors, but I think they only come as a pair... http://www.patternparts.net/stock_refine.asp?model=18&category=3&model_go.x=18&model_go.y=5

Thanks for that, strangely i was looking at that exact site earlier? This Tim who is selling bits is he selling it as a project bike cos my little brother has been bitten by the TZR bug too and now he is looking for one to do up. we are getting plenty TZR practice in in this household! BTW tim if you read this then please mail me or messenger or whatever and let me know what you are flogging off.

LOL

good idea m8! - i think i may do that for bike leathers! lol!

they wont like it tho im afraid!

oh yeah and byt he way an A-reg BMW should run on unleaded but you might have to alter the timing - however, it will most probably **** the valve seats as they were designed pre-unleaded and its possible that they arent hard enuff. Depending on how much you like the car should make your decision -hate it, run unleaded, love it - run LRP, dont love it or hate it but need it to run ok n cheap not too fussed either way - run a full tank of LRP to every 3 unleaded tanks fulls.

Probably not designed for unleaded tho mate so beware as i dont know mucha bout BMW's

cheers mate, talked to beemer guru who said that the valve seats on that engine have been hardened since 1970 or something mad? but he didn't know much more than that, only that his runs it fine :)
