Old hat, and i know the full story behind it ;)

It was a Royal Artillery training event out in Iraq, it had been decided that seeing as the lads were not doing anything at the time they would try their hand at doing what the Royal Marines do as part of their training, the difficulty in that is that a beach landing has to be recce'd first :D

The guy that filmed it for training purposes sent it in to the media and most had a giggle about it, all those bar the Royal Marines who everyone initially thought it was :D

Having done a few beach landings, the error they made was getting on the boat when they should know that its not part of their job to act like ducks :D

I think i still have it on my PC from a couple of weeks after it was first done, i am surprised that its only recently been posted on google :D

The music is very fitting, and i do know from a couple of the Artillery guys that i work with that the Royal Artillery are never allowed to forget it either :D

A spokesman for the Royal Marines (who are part of the Royal Navy if anyone hadnt worked that out yet) said at the time

"They should leave it to people who are trained to do it"

No **** sherlock!!! :D

(on a more boring note, the Royal Marines would have hit the beach at 30 knots and wouldnt have got their feet wet let alone muddy their boots :D )

PMSL!!! I remember the first time I watched that! I laughed so hard I let out a little bit of wee :D

I would've assumed they were TA though, not Marines :D :D No offence meant of course to those in the TA - did a fair stint myself!! LOL

It proves you should stick to your own job thats for sure! :D

That made me chuckle. I was expecting the people laying on the front with the guns to come flying off when the boat hit the land :D

thats normally the case :D

its called a rapid disembarkation and the Navy lads think its hilarious to bomb into the shore and ditch the passengers in one go :D
