i dont know who knows about the running problems my bikes been having, but it has had a flat spot between 5k and 10k. it was a bit of an inconvenience.
today i set about figuring out the problem, i worked out it was running rich when i took the plugs out and they were sooty. and the exhaust smelt of petrol, and was like a flamethrower at times.
my plan was to take it on a dyno and get them to fix it. probably with a cost of many $$$$$, but then i remembered that my old zxr was set up for my s/s pipes.
so i wondered if i could just swap the carbs over, and the airbox.
well perm my hair and call me edna, it worked.
now it so smooth through the range, and the exhaust smells less like petrol.
i tested it from very low speed upto about 110mph (private closed road) and it felt like a different bike, im so happy now.
and i even took the time (10 mins) to balance the carbs, all with a hangover.
