Always used to watch his stuff as much for the wildlife side if not for his daft antics :)

A bit of a loss to the conservation world to say the least :(

I would have thought if anything he would have been bitten by a Snake or a Croc not Stabbed through the heart by a stingray! Crazy! RIP!

in this case I definately feel RIP is more apt than some futile or sick joke. Not often does a man bring nothing but smiles to peoples faces and actually give a **** about something so passionately.

My thought exactly, I thought it was gonna be a bad joke when Ross told me, i figured he'd get eaten by a croc or poisened by a snake too, didnt realise u could be killed by a stingray!
Feel bad for his family but at least he dies doing something he loved. There's talk of it being shown on tv because thats what he wanted, but dunno how much of that is true. He was truely fearless tho! Crazy Fool!http://www.essexbikers.co.uk/forum/images/icons/icon11.gif RIP.

That would never happen he knows them all to well. Tha stingray was a perfect killer, He was probaly swimming with it all day then then wham its ****ed off and does him in the chest. I heard he pulled the barb out after wards before he died.

What a great bloke he was definatly funny about the way he got so excited :laugh1

The text messages are being circulated already, Dad just called up to read me one bout an urgent product recall in Australia, was along the same lines as the Guvs joke bout the sunscreen not protecting from strong rays.

Well his nipper started early so i reckon that place is already filled ;)

Incidentally Jimmy Nail has offered to sing Crocodile shoes at the funeral and for obvious reasons Sting has been left off the guest list ;)

Although it should be pointed out that Steve was actually a big fan of Thunderbirds but kept a special place in his heart for Stingray ;)

And in the words of the immortal Kenny Everett, its all done in the best posssssible taste :)

i hadn't seen anything he'd done in ages so had a quick sneak through this from the bbc, reminded me about some of those crazy facial expressions and the way he used to sit on a chat show in the same shorts and shirt, all the time.....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/5311848.stm

he'll be missed, and i reckon he would have loved that news 24 spoof!!!! from what i've seen, all around him had always said if he went it would be in the ocean as he was least familiar in those surroundings.
