Hi
Just considering buying another bike new/used for a winter hack and general run-around up to 5k what would you recommend?
I'm open minded super moto commuter oldie custom, just want something to use on those dull winter days and salty roads...

I use (well will be again) my VFR750 for dirty duty. You definately want full fairing for weather protection for you and the bike. Cleaning a naked after winter is a complete pig.

Most people will laugh at this suggestion, but i think any commuter 500 is perfect. Something along the lines of a GPZ 500
I had my ER5, was perfect as a winter hack. Then as it starts getting warmer its an ok bike to rag and still have a little KD fun on. Only downside to it is that it has no fairings (altho a GPZ 500 would sort that prolem out) and that it gets a bit bland after awhile (but then if its a winter hack you won't be pushing it alot)
depends how far your'll be riding and where ..? town/ country/ motorway...?
