Keyword spamming is not permitted on eBay. This occurs when members place brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting members to a listing.

Was unsure about this when I placed the ad recently for the Mito. I imagine in the T&C there is mention of this but it should be quite easy to put some guidelines on screen when you are creating your advert.

They must have put a woman in charge. :grin2

I think they are cracking down on all the people who actually put loads of 'not cbr rr, zxr, gsxr' ect, but i dont see the harm in it really ;)

Well....we've all browsed Ebay for stuff. When searching for GSXR - I am looking for GSXR's. Yet the search throws up 1200 results, of only which 200 may actually be GSXR's - the rest being completely different bikes because someone has put GSXR in the headline or text.

It is frustrating to have to wade through all those irrelevent ads just to find the ones you actually want.

But in saying that, I have done it so I'm being hypocritical.

I agree. Its a pain when your looking for one thing but 100s of other stuff comes up cos someone has done that, Why would I want to see a RSV if I was looking for a CBR R1 or ZX10.

I dont have a problem with them over what I put ,it was against the rules fair cop, but why couldnt they just take out the offending sections or ask me to ,then if I didnt then pull it , it only had a day and a half to run

I suppose it comes down to the fact that they probably have 1000's of adverts like this to deal with, and waiting on sellers to action it probably takes too long?

I can understand their logic because keyword searching when it gives lists of things that are not specific to that one particular item put a massive strain on indexes, i can understand the frustration people have when an auction gets pulled too, but ultimately its their company and i suppose they can do what they like :(

To my way of thinking they should be doing more to stop the scamming that goes on before they start pulling auctions for minor things like this :)

As far as advertising the bike goes, you should try something that covers Aprilia and its derivatives completely

Aprilia RSV1000R -RSV Mille - RSV1000

You would be surprised at what listing them individually turns up because of the way the indexing works ;)

You're not wrong, VFR, VFR750 & VFR 750 all pull up different results. If only there was a way of searching for thundercat without getting bombarded with Snarfs. :)

yeah i totally agree with everypnes point here, its a pain as u have now lost the people you had interested in your bike for no reason, and i see there point for cracking down on it
