:grin2 Yup i got paid for my first month of work at maplins.. overly excited at the prospect (worked it out at having 750 quid) to find i had only been paid 448.80 or something!:angrypun

After much deliberation with my dad, we found the fault was that Maplin Electronics had only paid me for 20 hours PART TIME work which is what im recruited for, but ive actually been working 8 hours FULL TIME all month!! :shooter

Well... being too late to do anything im going to have to phone my boss now on the way to cornwall (Going on holiday till monday so wont reply to this message till then most probably) and see if he can sort it out, but even if he does.. i wont get what im owed until the next pay day which isnt for another MONTH....So i have to suffer because of THEIR mistake???:shooter

Sat down and worked out im actually due the same amount of money AGAIN... as ive worked double the hours they specified..

I mean my maths isnt great... but the statement says i worked:

88 hours is for the four hours work

So if i was doing 8 hours.. double that.

176 hours work

So if i get paid 448.80 for 88 hours work.. and ive worked DOUBLE that...

Then they owe me 897.60?

Or now they owe me another 448.80?

Am i right or am i right???:grin1

This is really stressing me out.. ive read.. deliberated with my dad..
Gonna see what work says about it tommorow... im hoping i dont have to wait to the next pay day to sort it out or i will go up the wall... i have too much the pay for at the moment, the CG125 in for repair for example!:headbash

Sorry i needed to vent this and wanted your guys opinion on it.. my girlfriends mum said to me if they didnt sort it out as nicely as id like then to claim stress from it as employers genuinely s*it themselves as stress= a compensation claim or something... but i doubt id do that... :grin2

Anyway, ill speak when i get back from the holidays..

i dunno bout the claiming stress bit of not but it seems you have been underpaid, i wouldnt worry too much about it tho i used to get paid wrong every month from sainsburys, to a point where i now write down every shift i work so that you can add up all the hours and prove to them when i worked.

your'll get your money, just will take a while, or they might be able to offer you a cash IOU where they will simply give you the cash when ur next at work

Have a word with your companys wages clerk, if no joy from them, try phoning citizen advice and see what they suggest.
Good luck

Mate, ive beeen under paid in pretty much every job ive had.....its harsh i know - but if they think they can get away with it......THEY WILL! if thy really ow you those hours, then you WILL get them, and if you have been under paid for this months wages - they will have to give it to you be it in cash or what ever! hope everything sorts its self out! my company still ow me like £400! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i had a shoker with my wages the other day. looked at the tax and in one month i paid £750 tax. nearly cried, but ill get some of it back in april because they messed up my tax code.

my advice is the same as everyones, talk to your pay clerk, or supervisor and explain the situation. they will sort it.

Didn't the same thing happen at your old job?
