yer and we didnt get any info on the fallen rider that caused the second red flag just that it was a back marker.
Actually I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say i'm not so sure. ;)
During the post race interview (first race) he said he thought he had the race pace to pass Kiyonari but was waiting until the last few laps to make his move.
I think if he thought he could have passed he should have as the race being stopped had to be a strong possibity considering the changing weather conditions. If he had been leading when the red flag came out he would be champion.
So was he robbed? I don't think so I just think he called it wrong and was unlucky.:(
But with his talent he will get his chance :)

On the first race i see what ya sayin...
But the second race,.... he was well in the lead by over 5 seconds.
He would have won... if he'd kept the lead that is..
Like he said though, thats racing. Anything can change at any time..

It was ok. Surprised more riders did'nt come off really.
The weather was totally crap, both races stopped early due to weather and riders comin off.
Once the hail stones and thunder started i decided to call it a day and left early....

Damn unlucky for Haslam :( Still, a deserved champion was had. The fallen rider at the end of the last race was Tommy Hill. He hit the tyre wall really hard and knocked himself out... he came round though - we were stood watching as everyone else was fighting to get in front of the pits :D :D TBH, I was getting quite annoyed by his getoff being totally ignored!

Unfortunately thats racing for you, Shane Byrne was the rider that could have helped him win the title, had been on a really good pace all weekend and being on a Suzuki had no orders not to pass Kiyonari, it just turned out that he was also the one that caused his downfall too.
On the Brands Indy part of the circuit Haslam was keeping a good pace with Kiyo in the first race, but out on the GP part of it, he was outbraking him and making lots of ground at each corner, i do think he could have overtaken but you cant show your hand too early and be pushed into making mistakes especially against Kiyonari who we already saw earlier in the year is a bit of a top drawer rider when it comes to riding in the wet ;)
The 2nd race, Kiyo only had to come 3rd if Haslam won it, it wasnt there for Haslam to win the championship by that point, it was only a possibility of Kiyo doing something daft to lose it ;)
This is why early on in the race Haslam seemed to be pushing Kiyo really hard, you can only imagine that was to try and force him into making a mistake that dropped the bike, lets face it with Byrne not riding, and Lavilla having retired, it only left the Honda bikes of HM plant and Red Bull's Jonathon Rea to place themselves as a buffer to ensure that Kiyo won it.
It was plain to see that Karl Harris had team orders not to overtake, he matched the pace of Kiyo but made no attempt to take 2nd early on, when Jonathon Rea took 3rd, you knew that was as far as he was going to push too.
Silverstone could have been the making of the championship for him and also Lavilla going out in the first race yesterday didnt help either, you have to feel for him but at the same time you cant take anything away from Kiyonari because 11 race wins puts you in a better position to manage a championship and in truth it was him from Mallory park onwards that has pushed hardest for the title :)
Crap weather but a fantastic weekend of racing either way and the GP display from The Hopper was an added bonus too :)

what about him throwing away his advantage at silverstone weekend before? surely if it kept upright, would he not of gone to brands with much easier task than having to relie on other results?
am sad he lost, but showed great talent to be tapped into. has got old head on young shoulders....thanks to his gene pool i say...

With due respect to Leon and a suitable grovel to Maureen. (Don't kill me next time we have a coffee) - Leon's lack of experience showed. He should have taken into account the crappy weather, thought, "Hey what if the race gets stopped early?" and legged it past Kiyo as soon as possible in the first race. Reasonable given the weather.
Yes, I know Leon has MotoGP experience in 125 and 250. We know him and family quite well. But hindsight is great. LOL
<<<<Waits for phone call from Maureen. Ooops!
