ah, just back from a long weekend down in your neck of the woods, brilliant weather, 'normal' accents (instead of bloody yorkshire twang up here grrr) and great roads. Just a shame i wasnt on the bike. Clacton hasnt changed much except a bloody high tide yesterday.

didnt spot many bikes about around colchester/clacton way, was anyone about???
If the trip had been replanned then i woud have tried meeting up with some for you for a pint but it was a last minute relative jobby!

Perilous, yeah god to talk with you.

harriebird, didnt see you!
Saw a few bikes out there but given that it was a gorgeous day i thought there would be more. Think we counted about 10 in total!!!! Kept looking at them to see if any had 'essexbikers' written anywhere but none did.

I reckon you were all on the scooters that i saw instead............:laugh2

Went out with a girl from Malton for a while about ten years ago. Apart from being constantly reffered to as Mai Philup her family's day seemed to revolve around eating breakfast, preparing lunch, eating lunch, preparing dinner then eating dinner.

It amazes me how the local people get used to the freezing cold and permanent drizzle that always seemed to be going on whenever we used to go up for the Gold Cup and Cock of the North races.
We'd be wearing multiple jumpers and waterproofs with just our eyes showing and the locals would be walking around in T shirts.

Got some very good friends from Yorkshire though and apparently they can't understand my Essex yokel accent either.:grin2

you not wrong mate, apart from in between the cooking they just sleep or are in the pub. The life up here is so slow, still cant get used to it compared to the get up and do it south.

Was on the news today that Yorkshire men are officially the fattest. Great, even less space on the buses!
