View Full Version : Been out bonding!
Hello,
Went out for a run on the 'R' today and noticed the clutch master cylinder is leaking. It's not a lot but it shouldn't leak at all. Looks like a trip to Southern Cross is on the cards. :reading
Other than that it was a damn good ride, I was going nowhere in particular but just enjoying the moment

I love this bike. Is it obvious? :grin2
Oh yer one last thing while I remember. Anyone know of a anti fog that works? I need it for both my glass's and my visor.

Respro do some good anti fog fitments such as their "Foggy mask" (which lots of racers use including the designer and owner of the company who just happens to race in the New Era Sound of Thunder too), as do Oxford with their "Huff" (i have been using one of them on the Shark helmet i have and it works a treat at keeping the visor mist free in any weather) which also give a good seal to the underneath of the helmet then too.
As for anti mist for the visor, then if you havent got a pinlock system visor the Fog city ones are just as good and pretty cheap too as are the Oxford Ultra clear ones.
Whats the problem on the Master cylinder? where is it leaking from???

I'm not quite sure where it's coming from but there were a few spots of fluid on the faring inner panels when I unwrapped the bike and it continued to show there while out for the run. My guess would be a seal has gone somewhere in the cylinder.
I've just been in the garage having another look before I sent this reply out. And to be honest I'm no closer to solving this. :o The reservoir was a little wet in several places the connecting pipe was wet at both ends but not in the middle. The safety switch at the bottom was also a little wet. Odd eh? I've now dried everything and tightened the reservoir cap, nipped the bleed nipple, made sure the connecting pipe is secure and will have to see if any other clues emerge. :(
Would you believe it the leak has stopped!
So I guess it must have been something to do with either the reservoir cap or the bleed nipple. Which is odd as they seemed tight I just nipped them up a bit more.
I like this bike more each day especially as it now cures it's own faults :laugh1

I would imagine it was the bleed nipple just needing that extra little squeeze to be honest Dal (not that it really matters now :D ) normally under the brake reservoir cap there is a rubber cover to stop any leakage so even if the lid wasnt on tight it should leak from there, and also the reservoir isnt under any real pressure as thats a gravity feed for the system, the real pressure lies between the master cylinder and the rest of the system :)
