Can you shrink your sig pic please RoD, is makes the page wider and I like some sort of symmetry on my page:eyewobble

Its only 886 pixels wide, that should be more than okay for most monitors these days unless you are being tight fisted and using something that can only display 640x480, in which case you must have fun :D

Anything over 1000 pixels wide starts to get ridiculous ;)

As far as the avatar goes, you may well find that some people are using .gif files to show animation, but on most occassions when you try and compress a .gif image down to 80x80 and to the acceptable kb limit for use as an avatar it wont work.

If the file is linked to webspace and not embedded in the forum software it can work better too.

at 1024x768 your monitor should just clip a little bit off the edge though, i use 1280x960 normally anyway, however i will have a look at mine later and possibly clip it down a tiny amount until it fits for a standard 1024x768, however unless everyone else followed suit it isnt going to make much difference :D

the annoying thing with signautures is when people use nearly a screen's worth, for a few images and some text and then to top it off post lots of 1 line responses in a thread, you end up reading 5 sentences and 10 screens worth of images! :D

not to mention that amount of bandwidth it uses (which doesnt come cheap!) to load every image each time a page is refreshed ;)

again embedded avatars that use video clips, take bandwidth, take longer for pages to load and generally bog a site down so just bear that in mind later when things start to grind to a halt ;)

you need to change the resolution of your monitor then and wear glasses! instead of looking at icons the size of your hand on the screen! :D ;)

Dont fit on my screen either.........and I cant be arsed to scroll across so I dont read half your posts !
Ther are about 3 sigs on here that are bigger than eveyone elses ! If its a inferiority problem then dont worry were all friends:grin2 .
Would be easier if they were all the same size .......as they USED to be ;)

The problem is that there should be a set limit as there are with the avatars, most other boards use a signature setup along the lines of no more than 800 pixels wide and 200 high, and no more than 2 lines of text immediately below it.

I can live with that and i can live with trying to reduce the width on mine to compensate for that (although it makes the images less clear) but using half a page in height for a signature and then posting a 1 line reply makes for difficult viewing ;) :)

Used to use a program at school.. macromedia flash works i think it was called.. dont know if theres a freeware equivalent or any software out there that can help you.

Basically all you have to do is create a slideshow of GIF files.. and this makes an animated gif.. exactly the same kinda thing that emotions are using..

if you remember when i came to the site i had an avatar of a bike 'riding along a road' and some animated gifs in my sig.

type 'animated gif tutorial' into google and see where it takes you.

Good Luck!
