View Full Version : 2 Stroke Wheelies! (TZR125) Wanna impress the ladies!

right ive been asking various people on tips for wheeling me little TZR125 as i wanna impress the ladies!
following methods! i have been told!
Tark: "go along about 2-3mph pull the clutch in rev till about 10k then dump the clutch and that should bring me up and then i need to continue to rev and slightly lean towards the clocks and then dabb the back brake or pull the clutch in to land it"
The other method i have been told!
Biker Dude: " Go bout 10mph in first gear then pull the clutch in and rev to about 2k away from the redline then dump the clutch! and hover finger over clutch to bring it down!"
Right i have tried the 1st method and i can get the front wheel off the ground for a short time but as soon as it goes up it starts to drop me thinking because of lack of power but i have seen people pull wheelies on 125 2 strokes! and i have the powervavles! so does anyone have any other methods? etc?
Firstly, I know of no ladies who would be impressed by that - but then you do live in Clacton
Secondly, both answers are correct, but Marks is more likely to get the wheel up with a bit of control. The reason the wheel is going straight back down is cos you are coming off the throttle or hovering over the clutch as soon as the wheel lifts... i do the same, its a natural reaction if you dont wheelie all the time.
Good luck, and for gods sake... be careful ;)

clutching it up will work, but at a risk. chain snapping, clutch burning out, flipping the bike!
it's a 125. you dont need to wheelie it. wait until u can be let out on the 250 and the front wheel will get upright on hitting the powervalve!
theres not enuff power in a 125 to wheely on the power, clutching it up is the only way it'll go. s'up to u though i spose. keep practicing. remember that first is very peaky, so u could be getting it up then losing power as it bangs off the red line. try changing up gear as the front comes up about half way(clutchless shift)

lol cheers guys! er dan for ur comment my hands are completely away from the clutch! and the throttle is fully open wen its up as im hanging on for dear life! and trout i know the 125 dont have the power but i need to start somewhere! and id rather drop the 125 down the road than the 250 but hell if the front wheel will lift off the ground just hitting the powervalve does that mean i just lift? i might go to a wheelie school but i think u need a full liscense and dnt think i wanna pay £200 to fall of a bike! wen i can do that for free!
if you cant keep the front end up you have to get it up higher and then it will be weightless and you dont need power then, just control!

ok but im afraid if i lift it too far then im gonna flip it! and well getting it up is kinda well er jumpy lol if thats the right word to use!
I know what you mean. Get the bike on its back wheel without it running with someone to help support it. This way you can find out where its balace point is.
If you can get some people to help get on the bike while its up and then you can get the best idea.
Not that i can wheelie but hey!

i havent tryed it in my tzr but on my last bike (kymco sector) it was possible to weelie it. but only if you could get your weight right. you need to be as far back on the seat as possible and try to put your weight into bringing it up. personally i found that it just wasnt worth it, unless you buy a dear chain its gona stretch alot !!! i went through a chain in about 3 nights out messing around in a car park. (but if a 50cc scooter can do it a tzr should) my favourit has gota be a rolling burnout but thers no way your gona do one of them on a 125. then thers the rolling end-o (or stoppe) but your just gona smash your fairings when it lands, unless you remove them first, again you need a decent front break and keep your weight forwad untill you get the weight-less feel (your gona feel like youve gon to far) as they say practice makes pirfect. hope this helps.
I did a burnout on my cbr b4 i put new tyres on! And i can do rolling stoppies on my TZR.
i dont get that last comment... surley you would have to be rolling to do a stoppie in the first place??? :?
Dont try and ben a smarty pants!
A normal stoppie you wheel is stopped and the bike lifts. A rolling stoppie your bike lifts but you are still moviong forward.
Ahhh, sorry - didnt realise.
Damm, a stoppie whilst moving... scarey!

yeah my question is how u do that do u relase the rake slightly when you have ur balence
I find these are better controlled at speed. Flying along at about 40-50 mph. Then Slam on the front brake and lean forward to get the back up. then just use the brake gently to stop you going over the top and graduall slow down on your front wheel!

lmao!
i can already imagine the next thread appearing...
'crashed me bike, need parts!'
I dont try any more. I wheelied my CBR a few times and now know i can do it just dont bother in case i drop it! As for the TZR i just dont bother full stop! :o

yeah prob will be the same with me! as long as i know i can do it! but unitll then i will continue to try! i will succeed!
I'm afraid to admit to having done my first and only stoppie whilst on the A14 on the way to a rally - doing 85mph!!!!!!! doh! It wasnt planned but was a result of having to brake whilst riding one handed as a rider - yes another rider pulled out in front of us! - i was fully loaded with camping gear etc. - and i can tell you that a full blown stoppie followed by tank slap when the back wheel landed certainly brings you to your senses! - dont think i'll be trying that again in a hurry?! But after i had calmed down - was quietly impressed with myself for having kept it rubber side down and safe!!!
God i'm good!!!!!!!!! hehehe
Love TT.xxxx
Bitch on a bitch of a bike - and proud of it!!!!

mobyfab
05-12-2003, 04:27 PM
yeah its easier on a 4 stroke bike !
The whole topic is about 2 stroek wheelies so I was saying me on about my wheelis dont count in this topic!
I was on a CRX 125 the other nihgt. That was easier to wheelie than my 4 stroke just cos of the way you are sat. The SRX has a very long sitting position and it dont feel as nice to wheelie.
GREENIE
07-12-2003, 10:51 AM
The only really helpful wheelie advice i can give u is get a 4stroke single!!!!!!!!! the torque will have u liftin mingers in no-time!!!!!!
yo u should see trippy land wheelies on his vfr every1 who sees it says ooooooohhhhhhhh forkseals!!!!!!! your gonna bust a forkseal then ull wonder y u keep fallin off mid corner!!!!! lol trippy
To add to that. Out of the 4 stroke singles go for a trail biek with a nice seating postion tio pop nice ones.
Ahhh Jamie gets hammered again. Bet you wish you hadn't started being the joker of the site now dont ya?
Spider

LOL...yup, it's coz of all the words that mean differnt things but are spelt the same like LIVE and LIVE
I LIVE in a house
I saw the band LIVE
Well, let's solve this!
English to french is relatively difficult, as French is mainly derived from Latin.
English to German is easier, as they are linked, unlike French!
Japanese is written and spoken in the english form (just in Japanese)!!! Like, their word order and stuff!!!
(I studied all of them, apart from Japanese, but I know Malay, which aint far off)
