:D got to agree with you there !
TZR perfect little bikes, not only do they look like a real bike but they dont half go for a 125.
my TZR is still goin strong even tho its got 1 very "non" careful lady owner,THNX to jay fixing it up everytime i trash it or wear the engine out.
 thanq jay

I have just bought one too. Only got it cos i brought my mates RG125 home for him and thought i want one of these 125 thingys. Have been toying with the idea for ages but i decided to get one. I had a look on e-bay and bought a TZR 125R 2 days later.
Used to riding bikes as i have had one since three. Not as fun as the CBR600 but pulls well considering it only a 125!

Mines as fast as my mates RG after just tweeking the power valve adjusters but its still restricted cos it wont rev past 9000rpm.

The brakes and suspension is actually better than the CBR's with floating disks and upside down forks (obviously a bit smaller on the TZR).

One thing i noticed was that the back tyre is 150!! thats massive for a 125.

Plus i dont know if mine is imported or anything. Never seen one the same.

TZR's are the dogs!!!

more reliable and unique than an italian bike and heck of a lot cheaper on the insurance!!! personally reckokn they're a sweeter soundin 2-stroke than the italians! Handle very nicely too!!!

only down side... as common as rocking horse manure for spares!

But go like a rocket!!! For example: my dad (bout 5ft 8, but about that wide too :D ) took it out to his bike club meeting with fellow firemen, because he couldn't be bothered to get his Triumph RS from the back of the garage! (Just after i had cleaned and polished it i'd like to add)!!! and went to work the next few days, ppl thought he was "lying" ( :bad-words: about it being a 125! 2 guys on an SV-650 and a ZX6R complained they couldn't stay with him through the corners!!!

Hi guys, me newbie round here. From Singapore, i have to add. Will be buying a tzr 125r 1996 make. But need to noe can bike really beat other mitos and aprilias.

My frends, both riding a mito and aprilia, had been making fun of me and have been saying that the bike is damn slow. It even struggles just to reach 160km/h. I just wanna prove them wrong by buying this bike. Unfortunately, need to ask around whether i am doing the impossible. So, what u guys think?

hey, where in Singapore u from? Visited there many times! My mum's malaysian (which probably means u hate me already)! but hey! TZR's are great! reckon with the right amount of work and time on it, take the tips from the "2 stroke" section on this site and you should be able to get it going pretty fast! sorry, not sure what 160km/h is, only know mph! but i guess it's about 110mph, which u might be able to touch downhill, wind assisted unless u do serious tuning, but 105mph easy!!! If you want any advice and tips, just ask, someone on here will help! Also, where is the bike from? Is it an eastern model?

the TZR has 6 gears and the Mito 7 so i think they have better top speed. but on accelleration the tzr is very quick in its derestricted form.

160kph is about 100mph. The TZR should be able to do that.

Hey Jims,

Nope, no hatred in here.:) Just neighbours for all i care. Dunno whassup with these pple, always fighting. Politics i mean. I'm living in the west part of singapore.
Aniway back to bikes. 160 km/h is about 99m/h, 99.43 mph to be exact. Therefore, could not reach 170km/h, 106mph, or more like the mito and rs. Will be quite a disadvantage.

Origins of the bike, not to sure. Only viewing this wednesday. Its the r version. But not too sure whether the japan or the italian make. Is there any difference in power or anything?

Hi tark,

Well, its true that it could touch 160 kph but need to noe whether is there anyway to make it faster. :P Just don't wanna lose out to those braggards!

A TZR should do 170kmh. My English TZR did after I de-restricted it. The there is always Tuning, exhausts and K&N's. You will get it to beat your Mates no problem if you want to.

7 gears on a 125... seems like a lot of hard work too if u ask me?!?!?

Hehe, yer, that's cool!

Get a TZRR, the're great fun!!! also, although the mito might have a higher top speed, I bet their bikes (Italian ones) will spend a lot more time off the road than on!!! RS and Mito sound aweful (in my opinion) too!

I thought my TZR sounded the Nuts and that was with a standard pipe!

My Nova sounded pretty cool with a cbr600 silencer but thats another story!

Yer, mine's still only got the standard pipe and sounds quality, especially when it's screaming up at 12K rpm!

A Nova with a CBR exhaust...!!!??? My GF lives near a mechanic at a Ford garage, and he put a motorcycle exhaust on a jeep!!! That sounded cool, especially as it was on a jeep!!! But didn't too much about it, the bloke looked pretty scary!!!

Hehe!!!

Jeez, was in school today and saw one of those three wheeler 50cc things, with the stabalisers and roof!!! My mate (6ft 2) was sitting in it!!! I asked WTF he was doing in it and he was looking after it for some bird who's it was and he was getting a lift home in it! I sat in there with him, couldn't find the bloody brake?!?!? It was a real funny thing though and it had a dinky little pea shooter exhaust on it!!!

If I can find some pics, I'll stick them on here!

BTW, I know that this is off the subject, just the scooter exhaust made me remember!!!

Nah putting a ped exhaust on a performance car wont do it any good and wont sound very good. I would be suprised if you could get it to fit!

Me got the 1995 make, 4DL, TZRR, the italian version. only goes 150km/h max. Valve has been modded. Electrical not sure. Sometimes twice, sometimes thrice. How do derestrict the electrical part. I noe that there's a posting on it but couldn't understand. Me totally no idea. Any pics that i could follow?

Btw, whats the diff btwn the 1995 and the 2000 make? :?:

easy easy version for your wiring if that is the case.

Take your seat off and left seat pannle.

There should be 2 wires taped up in the wiring loom that are not connected. Crimp these two wires together and then fix them down to the bikes frame (earth) This will stop the electronic restriction.

About 100 out of mine. 110 Tops downhill with the thing about to blow up.

About 33bhp but in real life and after a few years you wil be looking more towars the high 20's.

150 is asking too much out of a TZR. The 125 Moto GP bikes just about do that and they weight nothing and are tuned to the tits.

Although they are still 125 so increasing the displacement to 170 will sure help increase the mph.

i am so happy to hear so many good reviews on this bike, i just got tzr 125 r 94 and i love it. mine is very differant looking though than anyones.

its been lowered (to suit my height)
has massive tire at back with massive yamaha alloys.
is street fighter look
got new front on it, so head lights are mean looking. and has been resprayed.

an it has an engine rebuild!
bless the person who owned this bike before me, they looked after her.

i promice i will get pics up when i can :)
