try taking the exhaust off and see if theres any restrictors in there.... if its anything like the new rs50 taking the restrictors out the exhaust will not do too much...my mate had his new rs50 derestricted and it cost him 300 quid 'cus they have to change a few things... if its like the old model off rs50 then it should only need the exhaust restrictors taking out!!... if its not like the rs50 then i may be wrong

The main restrictions on the RS125 tend to be powervalve (or lack of as used to be the case, most UK bikes have them now but they are disconnected) and also the CDI.
It may well be that you have an earlier RS125 in which case its possible that it also has an exhaust restrictor (normally a plate that restricts the bore of the exhaust).
The CDI can only be derestricted if its removed and modified or you find one that is already done, the characteristics of it being restricted will be that there will be a dip in acceleration at around 5-6000rpm.
The powervalve is an electronic motor and if you stick the bike in neutral and rev the engine slowly to around 3500rpm, you should hear it clicking as it operates at around 2500rpm (need to listen closely for it). If its not clicking then the chances are its either not fitted (in which case a blanking plate will have been fitted) or its simply been disconnected to comply with the 15bhp limit.
You will know if the bike is restricted when it tops out around 80mph and you dont get a sudden increase in speed from around 8000rpm upwards.
