Im looking to buy a new black screen for the bike to replace the clear one, who's makes the best quality ones and who's do i avoid?

I had a black tinted Powerbronze screen for my GPZ 500S which was good quality, but the holes didn't match up perfectly with the bodywork. It was only £35 but I would have paid more for a perfectly fitting one. Just got a dark black Airblade double-bubble screen gor my TL 1000R which is spot on for fitment and looks the nuts. It was £45 off eBay. So yeah, I'd trust Airblade if you want quality, value for money and looks. Good luck mate.

I had Powerbronze screen's on both my old Triumph ST and SV650S both were great, very good fit and nice touches like the edging strips.

Just my opinion :grin2

Fabbri
Powerbronze
Airblade
Puig
MRA

Take your pick really as they all do pretty good quality screens :)

I'd go dark, not solid. I think it spoils the lines of the bike if you cant see some light through the screen. Plus you might want to see where you are aiming when you get your chin on the tank!

Tint not solid ! And stay away from the harris screens.........unlike the others you have to remove the mirrors to fit them, because the indicators are built in you also have to chase the wiring loom back to diconnect them !!! PAIN !!!

def dont want to be doing that, i'll go for the dark tint then! & on that note, got myself a powerbronze black mesh hugger which dont get me wrong looks the nuts, but on the k6 you have to remove the rear wheel to take the old one off and fit the new one! pain in the ass!

yeah i had a look on the suzuki site, bit pricy though compared to some of the aftermarket companies.
just ordered myself a powerbronze airflow one in dark tint for £50 inc delivery. thought id opt for the airflow one (double bubble) & hopefully get rid of some of that wind blast when im caning it.

cheers for looking though mate.

I recommend the Powerbronze dark tint for the Gixxer deffo:grin2 . Ive had Harris screens for my K5 (first one was faulty and got stress cracks) second one was ok but a pain in the arse to fit even on the old shape bike. :jumping2 Ive got a dark tint Powerbronze for the K7 and it just slots straight into place, they do come with a rubber top edging but unless you are gonna superglue it on and faff around with it you may as well leave it as it is. Mine was £40 direct at Excel, sorry but I binned their catalogue yesterday...ggrrrr...:shooter :grin2

My K7 isnt allowed out of its cage until 1st March (07 plate):grin2 , its having some adjustments and goodies prior to release, but I have been visiting it quite frequently at my mates dealership for a drool and a stroke......and its a black/black 750...and its fooking lovely. Yeap my screen is the double bubble too, very easy to fit. But on this occasion I have a nice man in the workshop who is going to do the business for me....rofl.....I cant be having with breaking anymore nails!:jumping2 :jumping2

Quality, dont blame you you may as well get all the extras put on for you while your waiting. if your thinking of changing the can go for the micron hydraformed moto gp jobbies, they sound mad & look well nice. bet you cant wait till 1st march! i had a look at the k7 the other day at john pease in braintree, no difference whatsover to the k6 at all is there apart from the graphics are slightly different, im presuming you've gone for the red/white?

Oddly enough there are a few more changes than you would expect but they are literately only tweeks. After it has had its 600 mile service it is going to get some further slightly bigger tweeks......Ive had quite a lot of experience with race cans of various makes and as nice as they are I have my eye on something rather special for the K7 but I dont intend on getting it fitted straight away, absolutely no point. Ive already stuck the decibel reader up the arse of the K7 and it's churning out 103db as it is and coupled with a max book power of 134BHP what do I realistically want anymore noise or power for? DOH ....stoopind question annoy the **** outta my neighbours ....lolol.....:jumping2 Bodywork isnt going to be staying standard for long either.....I know a man with a rather large spray gun and a vivid imagination:grin2 :grin2

Yeah, he's also got a tin of Germoline pink hovering in the back of his workshop I noticed :shooter .So he has been warned well in advance to not start thinking he's Monet..........he gets his 750 same day as me!! ....rofl....:grin2

NOTHING like highjacking a thread on screens....rofl....but hey this is a bike forum.....sorry Quickshift....lol

dont worry i've ordered the screen now anyway!

im guessing this is going to be something special then as theres a high level of secrecy going on :grin1 :rockon

i know what you mean about the can thing though ive had the micron system put on at 500 miles but havent bothered havin it re mapped & tweaked yet ill wait till 1000-1500 miles till the engines bedded in more. it's made a hell of a power increase already, just from losing the collector box! next step power commander! i'll look forward to seeing yours down the pub at some point then
