If you watch this closely, you would notice that he makes the same mistake over and over again. That is, he keeps dabbing on the brakes right in the middle (crest) of the corner. Of course that time he locked the rear end as he has carried more speed than he was comfortable with which may have caused him to run wide, hence the need for some hard braking and the rest is history.
