recent events mean that i can now keep my CBR400 as well as my Monster, so i am going to set about making him look lovely again (as well as getting him to start!)
i got a bit happy with my wire brush on my dremel and for some reason best known to myself, i decided to try and polish out a few chips and bits of corrosion on the forks of said CBR400.
needless to say i made a bit of a hash of it and would like to get them polished up again.... it's probably a good idea parkys have been doing my race bike for me :grin2
any ideas who could do this? (i'll ask in parkys but wondered if anyone had any other suggestions....!)
thanks

If we are talking about the chroming on your fork tubes then best to get them rechromed to be honest, MCTechnics ;)

If its the painted part then get them powder coated

no, we are not talking about the tubes, more the outers that pick up stone chips and on CBR400s get particularly pitted. they are like brushed steel i think, no chrome at all. the inners are fine. there is a little pink circle showing the area in question
crescent 750 - thank you for that invaluable advice :clap  i know it was a f**king stupid thing to do.....! oh well!

personnally i would just rub them down with emery cloth/ wet 'n' dry and then stick some lacquer over them, or even some of that invisiguard to stop them oxidising anymore, if you want to go the whole hog then get them powder coated as suggested :)

won't that make them look painted though? i just want them shiny again! but i will def try the emery cloth thing. it's not essential but i want him to look pretty......

powder coating can be done gloss or matte, the invisiguard film is just like fablon so would be transparent, in fact why not try using fablon around it to stop it getting any more stone chips or corrosion, it might look a little shiny but it will save you having to scrub them all the time once they are cleaned up ;)
