Hello boys and girls,

Firstly, appologies for not being on here for so long. Not riding made me unhappy, and it made me sadder to see others having so much fun :(

But thats all changed now!!

Yesterday I had a visit from a man in a transit, he wanted what I had, and I wanted what he had. All seemed like a fair trade (I got the better end of the deal, but he didn't like what he was getting rid of so I think he was happy too).

Anyway, enough suspension, what did I get??

Well..............

I have actually got a Ducati! Holy poop on a stick, I couldn't believe it. It's not the best racy type, but I like it. And it's still a duke.

Its a yellow 2001 750ss, top of the range one, Brembo brakes, full fairing with only 17000m on the clock. It has race cans, that are a bit tatty but sound AWESOME!!!! I also have the standard ones for MOT time.

Anywho, pics below. I took them at the smallest res, but there are a few so sorry to dialup users.

I do have a video of the most beatiful noise in the world spouting out of her, I will put it on youtube sometime soon.

And what did all this cost me? Well I gave 1 ZXR that I have never heard running with bad bodywork, another ZXR with milkshake oil (head gasket gone, I didn't even know till he showed me), a box full of engine bits and 300 beans.

I am sooo happy, it felt so good washing a Ducati this morning. But it does need its belts changing because its been sat for a year (big $$$)

What do you all think??
Please be nice.

I think I will be very interested to hear how you get on with it. Have always given them a look in mags so will be interested to hear the best/worst.

Have fun. Another twin joins the ranks.

There are people about who specialise in Ducatis (but who are not main dealers) you should be able to get the belts done at a very reasonable price by them.

The bike looks superb.

belts wont cost as much as you think. On my monster the quote was £75ish - an hours labour plus the cost of the belts. So maybe a bit more (i don't know enough about the SSs).

Give Parkinsons in Colchester a call. But not til they've fixed my GSXR please :grin2

oh and get your arse on www.ducatisti.co.uk (http://www.ducatisti.co.uk)!

welcome back baby - i see it's in the best colour as well :clap

Heres a lil clip of the noise. a bit poor quality.

Thanks for the comments guys, and to Harrie, Rons was the first place I was going to try. Its listed in the Ducati world dealers guide I got with the bike.

Theres a few bits that need doing, ie I need a fairing bolt kit. The guy forgot to bring the bolts. Also new tyres, and need to clean the wheels and frame.

I couldn't sleep last night, probably won't again tonight.

Lol, I've needed a new name for ages.

Not very imaginative, any help with that will be great. :)

On another note, Saturday was made even better by my visit to Rob at Nukems. He ushered me towards the back of the shop and asked me to perch on a 2007 rsv. Was the best thing in the world, except a Duke. Very bike bike, for me anyway, but it felt just right in every way.

Mmmmmmm, I love the twins.

He misses you too. He was going to get the rsv, but bought a car a few days before it came to the shop. he was a bit upset by that.

ive been around working hard and playing soldiers. takes up a lot of time.

thanks for your comment about my bike :) if you pop round one day you can listen to her pur (or roar), maybe even a go up and down the street.

I cant wait to ride her, but that will be a couple of months, ive got no money until after my holiday. so i cant service or insure or new tyres until june :(

I got a cushy number working at my sisters boyfriends financial advisers company in London.

im admin there, its an easy job, and the first figure of my salary is a 2, so a bit better pay than sainsburys. but I had fun there when the full gang was there.

I forgot you sold the zx6. dude, what you getting next?? and when?

make it soon . almost bbq season.

Ive just spent 10 mins in my garage admiring her. hhmmm, i keep thinking i will wake up soon. she does look better in the flesh than pics. i think next nextweekend will be 2 days of detail cleaning. engine, frame and wheels.

Ive spent all my pennies until after my holiday in may.

the bike needs new belts, tyres and an mot so thats gonna be a fair few $$$

I might build a bbq this year jon, i big fat brick one. our gardens getting extended by a fair bit so i think i could fit a bbq big enough to cook a whole cow. btw, you can get approx 400 quarter punders from 1 cow.
