Tank Syphon

Hi ya Help wanted.
Does anyone who may be going the NWH tonight have a tank syphon i can borrow?
I need to empty my tank so it can be respayed.

How about we tip the bike upside to empty it? :grin2

Although a better solution is to use one of them screwdriver thingamybobs to get the tank off and then just tip it out? :grin2

Perhaps there is a good reason why you can't do that though ? :confused: :grin2

You wont get all the petrol out by tipping it upside down, it has a baffle in to stop it spilling everywhere on most bikes, the easiest way is to just take the drain it from the reserve fuel supply pipe.

or syphon it out, take the plunge with a piece of hose and go for a lung full of petrol, its character building stuff and should be considered as one of lifes great misadventures :D :D

makes smoking a cigarette for the next 20 minutes a real interesting bit of stuff too :D

Or unbolt the fuel tap and drain down that way, sometimes its better than a gob full of petrol :grin2 and you can have a fag after.............
