Went into the garage for petrol this morning and while in the shop I bought a bottle of pop, couldn't be arsed to put it in my bag so I wedged it in my pocked and took it easy the 200 yard drive home.

Slowly turning left into my street the bolt on my sidestand come loose and you know what happenned, yupp the stand comes down, scrapes along the deck and flicks back up.
No bolt=no stand kill switch!

Anyway I kept it upright and my only loss was a bolt and a semi clean pair of pants.

Thats about as an interesting way I can say check your bolts as possible.

Now go check your bolts :grin2

That happened to me on the M25 near the junction to the M3 three years ago. I was blasting away at 80mph on the 3rd lane when the engine sudden cut out. Luckily there was a big enough gap in the traffic to allow me to coast to the hard shoulder. I thought at this point that l had ran out of petrol. Checked the gauge and it showed plenty. After a little while fiddling about, l found the stand almost shearing of due to the weight of the bike on it. So l quickly put it on the center stand and then tightened the only bolt left on the stand, enough to keep the switch in so that l could continue on my journey to work.

It scared the hell out to me. Really not nice.
