3 miles to work and 3 miles back again, it will take me longer to put my gear on and take it off again when there than it will take me to get there, Hopefully I will wake enough people on the way home to make it worthwhile.

Oh yes, wake everyone i like doing that at 5am on a sunday morning lol
 the other day you were whining on about the Police tugging you, now you are laughing about waking people up at 5am, little wonder bikers get a bad name, at least there are some round here that are sensible enough to enjoy riding enough to not want to **** people off with the sound of their cans, let me guess i am betting you cane the crap out of the bike in low gear, high revs through residential areas just to listen to the sound of the bike,
rather than trying not to attract attention to yourself whilst still enjoying yourself ;)
Someone joined this site the other day and commented how initially he thought it would be full of chavs, please dont start giving the impression that we are a forum of bikers that dont consider anyone else, thats how biking got a bad name to begin with ;)
I might be knocking on a bit but it doesnt mean i cant kick the arse out of riding my bike without annoying people sleeping at 5am on a Sunday morning :D
take it as a rant or as a lecture but please dont drag the site down ;)

Ok point taken. But I dont ride my bike in low gears at high revs, at that time of morning when ive just finished work its cold and all i want to do is get home. End of thanku

End of? sorry but that clearly says to me you enjoy taking the **** and waking people up at 5am for the sake of it?
Ever do Burnham bends last year when the bends were covered with Diesel and glass down to the locals getting fed up of "idiots on bikes" kicking the arse out of it?
Its just inconsiderate short and sweet, yes my cans are prone to setting alarms off on cars and get the curtains twitching but i dont deliberately kick the arse out of it for fun to wake people up :D
Reason why i posted on this? well some are aware that a few members of this site gave interviews with Essex FM the other day, its well known that this site is actually being referenced and got quite a few mentions on Essex Radio, that means people are starting to read it, imagine the drop in credibility this place gets, when members having given interviews to get the message across that not all bikers are complete muppets are contradicted by the few that tend to think its funny to annoy not just other road users but people sleeping ;)
This site has never been a hooligan site for lunatics on 2 wheels, yes we have fun but more often than not its well away from built up areas and in most cases the people that are out and about have the sense to respect other people, rather than add to the 1000's that already think we are ****s :)
And a message to anyone that is potentially joining after the mentions on the radio, this is definitely not some Chav site, we welcome riders that like to ride and also enjoy biking properly, what we dont want is people that think we are the only form of transport on the road and those that seem to think safety and biking arent in anyway linked :)
Over to you Becky, sorry if i have upset you on this however after Dan got the interviews arranged with Essex FM the last thing i am sure he wants is to have "his" website being advertised as a place that condones this sort of behaviour ;) (even though we know it goes on :D )

Awsome!!! I think you have to buy new pants after riding the 636 (wear a sheath to keep it clean ;))
IF you do get the 636 pop over dude, you can see the Duke. no-one has seen her yet, and she is gleaming!!
glad to hear about a great days ride, it is scary to scrape toes, but fun!!

BAD SLUFF
:grin2
Sluff, you should NEVER apologise for being slow! I used to apologise all the time for lagging behind, and people having to wait for me. If they want to wait fine, that's their lookout, but don't put yourself under pressure by worrying about not keeping up with faster riders.
Riding at YOUR OWN pace and a pace you are comfortable with is always the better, and safer option and it's always the best way to learn. Trying to keep up with someone else teaches you nothing, other than a losing some concentration whilst your trying to ride by the seat of your pants :)

It also means that you pick up bad habits, can end up following crap lines, and ultimately making other peoples mistakes instead of your own ;)
Remember the thing that they say on your test Sluff?
"Ride for yourself" ;)

"Ride for yourself" ;)
Here here:clap . And in essence of what Jetski has already written I ride for myself, Im not the fastest, but then I dont have to be as I have nothing to prove.:grin2
I sadly have to look at the remains of bikers/drivers brains on a regular occasion and quite frequently the cause of such fatalities is lack of concentration, speeding, racing or aggressive and unsafe manouvering and driving/riding styles.:( Im not a big fan of pack riding unless I know that all those I ride with are careful and considerate. And with the Essex Bikers I have ridden with I have always felt secure in that knowledge:p .
Grey matter doesnt go down well with my tea and a digestive in the morning.:headshoot
So take your time, relax, enjoy the ride and dont let any fookwits intimidate you.:grin2 :laugh2

Thank you all for the advice,,, I do ride for myself generally,,, I just felt bad for the fact that I was holding everyone up,,, still I enjoyed it and that is the main thing,,, I want to do lots more with all you guys and see if I can learn a little more and stay safe!!!

you will be better when you have got used to the feel of the bike, my VTR is the first v-twin i've had and it took me a while to get used to it, locked the back wheel up a few times when i got it and shreaded my tyre too :laughboun
take ya time and it will soon all fall into place and you will have much more confidence.
