As per the title, he is dissapointed with his XT125 :(
Not enough power he says.......
So we have bought an RS125 as a project :)
Its been crashed partly repaired, its been off the road for 2 years, the previous owner has already bought a lot of the parts, some of which he has oredered on ebay and is still waiting for, all parts he has are included.
Damage was, slid on l/h side scuffing fairing, hit curb with rear wheel, smahed wheel and damaged swinging arm, flipped and landed on other side scuffing that side too.
Good points
Frame 100% okay
Forks 100% okay
Fairing in one piece but all panels scuffed and needs full paint.
The swinging arm has been straightened, but he was not happy with it and has a replacement, yet to be fitted.
Both wheels replaced with newer 5 spoke items, and new rear tyre.
Replacement tank included & hopefully cap to.
Subframe already replaced
Bad points
Still missing speedo drive & cable.
rear brake disk bolts missing
indicators playing up
headlight doesn't work
battery knackered
all needs sorting out, cleaning up and putting together, then painting.
Connected up a good battery, checked oil, connected temporary fuel supply, put choke on, touched the start button and it fired up straight away (after I turned the kill switch back on;)) engines starts good and sounds fine.
I have seen plenty with worse bodywork on the road, so I have suggested that he puts it on the road as it is, (as its his first sports bike, and better to drop it before its painted rather than after :) ) then paint it after a month or so.
Deal just came up at the right time (same day we decided to look) and the price was right.
So Dave seems a happier chappie :)
