Well the season kicked off at the weekend for those that follow it, and for those that dont its something you should seriously go and watch.
Yup The BMCRC season affectionately known as Bemsee, got under way at Brands Indy and Mr Perilous unvelied his Yellow Perils to the delight (wouldnt it be nice to say 1000's here now? :D ) of all those in the Superbike 400 series :D (the striking paintjobs attracted quite a few comments and also photographs, only to later be met with bills for blinded cameras :D ).
Some will know that Perilous didnt have a particularly good year last year what with some serious problems through illness, some others through injury, however despite his upsets he still managed to finish the season in a respectable position.
With that in mind and with the new season starting, new frame of mind, fully fit and raring to go he had a good weekend and things are looking good with 4 top 5 finishes from the 4 races this weekend (i will leave the details of the races to him seeing as its him that does the riding :D ).
No loose shock bolts, extra oil in the engine, no lockwire pliers carried for emergencies, just the odd wheelie off the line and some heavy braking and strange riding positions :D
Above all else the weekend was excellent, some fantastic racing and some that was just astonishing (especially seeing a 600cc Seton tuned bike do a 50 second standing start lap, followed by a 48!, if you follow BSb you will know Kiyonari managed a 50 second starting lap on a CBR1000RR with over 200bhp ;) :D ).
Anyway when he drags his arse in here i will leave him to fill in the blanks :D

David off the ducatisti site was telling me about the Seton bike :grin2 WOW
I was just looking at the results :reading and was starting to think Mr P had a podium phobia until I see where he positioned in the final Sunday race :clap
Congratulations Mr P, who (if anyone) rode the Raptor? (fantastic name for a bike :grin2 )

The Raptor won't be out until Snetterton in April. I wanted to get my head back in Sb 400 first. Also I want to Poldenify the Raptor a bit before I race it.
You mean paint it Yellow? or bugger it up :laugh1

I'm in the middle of my EDIasia race write up at the mo but I would just like to publicly announce that my new pit crew 2007 of Lateshift and Jetski were absolutly bloody awesome. Even if Mick did nag me all weekend and make me change the gearing I'd been happily using for three years and then have the ordasity to be bloody right :grin2 and even if Jet broke my bestest bestest lucky mug and made me wheely by pulling faces through the fence at the start.:grin2
Seriously though, Mick made such a fuss of my bike I was frightened to touch it without asking permission. :grin2 I can't beleive how easily I walked away and left him to it. Although i've let people help, I don't think I've allowed anyone to touch my bikes before a race without me sticking my two bobs worth in since my mate Ewan died in 2000.
I even stopped pacing around like a constipated mother hen in the end.:grin2
Mick and Jules fitted in with all the various retrobates I tend to attract as if they'd all been mates for years and worked great with Lenny too. You really couldn't ask for as better pit team.
Mind it was a gentle start. One class and I stayed on (just:grin2 ).
I've made no secret that last years illness effected mentaly as well as physically and, although I was up for it, my confidence was at an all time low. Two fifths a fourth and a second weren't quite up to what I was after from a Brands round but never the less with out my new team around me I'd probably not have done as well as I did.
Provided the rider gets his head right back where it should be, the four person Polden Racing team should have a good season.
Albeit joint, fourth in the championship isn't a bad place to start the season.:)
Anyway enough of this serious stuff normal service will be resumed shortly.:grin2

Yubba Dubba DOOOOOOOOh !! That wasn't me either.
If I'd wanted a concise two word statement to sound like Balloo the Bear I'd have written about Jungle Book!
I though't I'd got away with the add ons in that one.

It's EDIasi'a paint job not mine (I think you'll find they had it first;) ) I can't imagine what would possess anyone to paint a bike yellow voluntarily myself.:grin2 Mind it's better than Maroon I suppose but a bit common.:grin2
Funily enough 42, 43 and 44 in the SBK 400s are all yellow.

Yes but only one of the riders is silly / mad enough to wear matching leathers ;)

<p>how was lydden phil, good weekend?
Yeah not bad thanks.
Couple of 7ths on Saturday. Race one I was bit gutted with because it was really slippery (drizzle) and we were one of only two bikes that went out on the right tyres but I had problems with the front brakes locking in with so much as a dab of my little finger so I wasted the advantage.
The second one was wet but a bit of a procession to be be honest. I've lost the plot with the rain a bit and I was well of the pace I've done in previous years round Lydden in the rain, which i'm a bit miffed about because it used to be the wetter it was the better I did especially if there was loads of standing water and stuff.
The way its gone with injury and the lurge I had I haven't really done much proper wet racing since I went from the back of the grid to second at Cadwell in 2004 so i could do with a wet test day to get used to sliding the bike around and stuff again.
Sunday was 6th and 4th. I was pleased with that though. The grids were a bit small (mind they were in all classes) this year but the pace at the front was a lot quicker than last year and I exceeded my personnal best in each race so I'm moving forward again after my sh#t year last season. I just need to bridge the gap from being back on it to the pace of four or five of the front runners this year.
Sunday's races were ace though and I rarely do well at Lydden, so anything above 8th is a good result for me there. :)
3/10s off the 43s round there yet though so that'll be next time with a bit of tidying up:) but low 44s weren't bad for an old fart on a tuned mower engine.:grin2
Snetterton next and I reckon I'm gonna have to be dipping into the 1.15s to get any sort of result in the 400s so bearing in mind my best is 1.17 something there could be some spectacular flying impressions.:grin2
Or torpedo attempts at Richies because I'm sure I could do that section with out braking. I nearly did it when i won last year but but I've never quite had the bottle to completly leave the brake yet but I think this next meets gonna have to be the one. :D You don't get a cigar for fourth.:grin2
