Can anyone recommend any repairers for the Harlow area?
These are very good, they are in Romford.

I live in Harlow. I used the garage round the back of the NHS walkin centre (nr Asdas) for my MOT and they did a good job, there are also DC Butlers in Stansted Abbots High Street who i have used for servicing. Sure they must do repairs too. :grin2

My advice would be to never go anywhere near these people. They are expensive, liars and theives (IMHO).
A freind of mine had his bike repaired there, they promised and billed for new fairing and gave him repaired ones, they also removed the sound proofing from within the pannels.
He reported it to the insurance company, who did not seem that bothered. Needless to say the bike did not feel the same so they parted company.

I don't actually have any experience of any of the companies mentioned here.
I note the "IMHO" remark next to the post.:clap
Fact is, peoples perceptions of levels of service can vary wildly. I make a point of never specifically recommending anywhere. I might relate a personal experience, as I have done with Parkinson's in Colchester. Very good, no complaints on how they dealt with my issues. Others have been less than impressed.
Other shops/suppliers get rave reviews here and elsewhere. Of those, many I have visited I would never give my custom to again.
Its all about how well you believe you are treated and what the level of service is that you got at the time.
You could visit the same shop, same day, same member of staff and two different customers with exactly the same requirements may leave with entirely different views.
I guess what I am saying is keep it real folks. By all means describe your own personal experiences and whether you personally feel you have received good or bad service. But remember, the next person that the same guy in the same shop serves may have walked away thinking they are the best thing since Jesus rode down the mountain on his Yamaha.:grin2

What sort of repair are you after?
Accident damage or mechanical?

It has scratches & a crack to the fairings. The wires have been pulled out and the alarm has been ripped out and short circuited.
As for mechanical I don't know as I can't start it.

As it goes I like Silverex in Braintree. Large companies are not interested in the customer, cash is all they are interested in, this can be seen from car dealerships.
I simply commented on an experience a friend had at sudden impact and they are not the only person I know who has had problems with them.
If you have other experiences then please share them so people can get a more rounded view.
My bike is my P&J I am very particular about whom I let touch her in an intimate way. I am sure more than a few of you van understand that.

Firstly these are our own experiences and not hear say or conjecture :grin2 .
OK, I had my Bandit 1200 repaired by Sudden Impact, with all new genuine Suzuki parts the insurance company was going to write it off, but it was completely repaired to a very high standard ;) .
Our son Graeme (whippet on this forum) has also had both his bikes, an R6 and his ZXR6 (not long now till thats fixed, just a few bits to get, Ebay is a wonderful thing) repaired and or work done to his bikes by Sudden Impact :) .
We have always had a good service from Sudden Impact, which is why we would go back to them for any paint work or repairs.
Regards to expensive, you normally get what you pay for.....................:grin2

I used a guy that was based on the industrial estate down Whalebone Lane North in Chadwell Heath to repair my old 'blade panels after I trashed it and he did a top quality job.
Can't remember the name of the company though, might not even be there anymore...
