Does anyone know if there's a typeof false neutral between 5th and 6th gear on the RSVR? I've been 'making good progress' a few times now and changed quickly up from 5th to 6th and screamed it into neutral?
Is this normal and is there something up?

On the RSVR close ratio gearbox (the one you have) when you kick up from 5th to 6th it is quite common to get a false neutral that normally drops back to 5th gear on its own.
However to get round the problem you need to keep gentle pressure on the gear selector for a little longer.
When you kick up from 5th to 6th keep your toe under the selector for an extra second or two as you roll the throttle on. This will ensure that the gear gets selected properly and picks up the drive in that gear.
Its down to the machining of the gears, the close ratio of the top end gears (shouldnt really need 6th gear on one of these because 5th is good for at least 150mph flat out :D ), this used to happen on my new RSVR too so its nothing to worry about and was described to me as lazy gear control :D
You can also get round it by remembering to use clutchless shifting up the box from 2nd through to 6th again keeping a little extra pressure on the selector :)
