Xbox 360 Vs Ps3???

So the ps3's here at last but who do you think will win the war? i personally dont think the graphics on the ps3 are better if anything pretty much equal.

Im sticking with the 360 for sure, whats everyone else think?

40'' HD samsung! yeah if you run them on a normal tv there ok but if you go over to the HD scene it's amazing! espeicially MOTOGP!

i have the 360 now - the graphics dont really look noticably diffrent on the ps3 ( and OH MY GOD YEAH i have a HD t.v) from what i have seen. i will be getting a ps3 aswell though as my uncle is a computer programmer for sony......and at 50% + off.....it would be rude not to! however i AM angry at BUNGIE......as they promised me they promised me HALO 3 would come out at the same time as the PS3.....clearly not....grrrrrr...

the ps3 online is just as crap as the ps2 online apparently..... i'd rather have the 360 just for the online play... who cares about the graphics if there isnt that much diffrence between them and you can get much better gameplay on xbox live... (thats my opinion though:))

Well I have been told that there isn’t really much difference between the two as far as graphics,,, but the price puts me off and that fact that the online gaming on the 360 is so cool (even if I am the one that always gets dead strait away)!!! Also there is a better range of games on the 360,,, there are no new titles for the PS3,,, just remakes of old ones (we love you sonic)!!!

My 360 got picked up yesterday :( it got the famous red ring of death come up (hardware failure) wish I didn't buy it now. Hardly use the thing for gaming.

That graphics is stunning if you hook the HDMI to HDMI compatible TV. It will certainly blow you away.
Unfortunately, not enough games for it. Also no emotion chip anymore. I think there is a software emotion emulator. I think the net version is the one to get though as it should be bluetooth keyboard, mouse amd remote cotrol friendly.

I’d be a bit wary of that,,, coz there will probably be something that you’re gonna have to pay for!!!

As for the Xbox Live,,, when you first sign up you’ll get 3 months free,,, and with most new game you get 48 hours free memberships!!! Also if you get BT home hub you get the wireless connection thing and 12 months free membership!!!

Any way,,, I’m an Xbox man so I’m biased I guess!!!

yeah but it's £40 per year! hardly breaks the bank & the sony online gaming is naff anyway. got my 360 running in HD & saw the ps3 in action this weekend & i cant notice any difference at all apart from the blu-ray (which has nothing to do with it at all)

theres always going to be the old 'but the 360 has got a year headstart on software, the ps3 will rock when its a year down the line' etc etc etc, but, did you know that developer kits for the PS3 went out to developers BEFORE xbox360 dev kits, therefore the PS3 has had more software dev time, in theory it should be ahead of the 360, but it isn't.

Sony annoyed a lot of people by leaving europe launch until so long after jap/usa launch. Of course its going to be successful, fanboi's would pay the money for an old george foreman grill if it had PS3 written on it!

360's basic online service is free, you can send/receive messages, download games etc. I for one, am glad to pay for the full live service. Free services soon become unsupported, crap services.

I will be definately getting a PS3, but I will definately not be paying over £400 for it! If that means I have to wait a year for it then so be it. My 360 is more than enough to tide me over for 2 years if it has to. The only reason I want one, is for whatever exclusive titles come out (like Resistance fall of man).

And when it comes to online gaming, I don't think Xbox live can be beaten.

I dont really like the Xbox to be fair.. The major drawback is they brought it out too soon after the XBox.. and unlike the ps2.. your xbox games then became useless as who would want to play an xbox when you have the 360?:shooter

Occasionally for recreational purposes with mates etc i might settle with a good game and a ps2, but im not going to start getting all excited because i might be able to See crisper details of video games on my tv..:laugh2


You can pretty much emulate any console game and play it on the pc (and yes providing you own the game, its perfectly legal) and if you opened up a console system, you would see its pretty much just a cd rom reader, a motherboard and a proccessor (well maybe not EXACTLY that but you know what i mean).:grin2

Having played both the PS3, And The XBOX 360 if i had to choose between the systems i would very much rather go with the ps3 as it looks nicer, the graphics are absolutely amazing, and the blu-ray dvd player seems to be a great asset to it.:grin1

Not only that.. but have you ever looked at the leads etc for the Xbox..:grin2

I mean are they SERIOUS with the bulk leads they give you... wrap them round your hands and you could get done for carrying an offensive weapon.. i think they took the 'Box' part a little too seriously!!!:grin3


The price though i think is a bit much for it... though everyone was told it would be over 400 quid.. so i suppose its either you want it now or you dont..

And the Xbox elite.. wow microsoft are really pulling out the stops here, its just like the xbox crystal, same as the original xbox but a different colour and maybe a bigger harddrive??:laugh1

you feel like you've paid when you pay xbox live... and when you play playstation online you know you havent paid for it and it is boring. however the xbox you can play for hours on end and still want to play it the next day

i've played the ps3 as well & the graphics are no better at all, i havent seen one game yet where the graphics are better than the 360? not saying that the ps3 is **** just the same.

when you played the ps3 & 360 did you play it in 1080 in HD???? both consoles are excellent, the ps3 looks better on paper but then the 360 produces graphics better than the ps3 does & is smoother.

As for the Blu-Ray, what was the point??? far too early, no one is going to want to trade thier dvd collection in & exchange for Blu-Ray versions already. all it's done is put the price of the console up which has put people off.
Its the kiddies i feel sorry for as not all parents can afford to pay out £450+ on a games console!
if HD-DVD takes off instead of Blu-Ray (which it's looking like it will already)then sony will have a console but no dvd's to go in it.

If sony had of sorted their online gaming out it would have helped but it's let them down big time, compared to xbox live it doesnt even come close id sooner pay £40.00 a year/76p a week for something that is as good as that!

If you connect the HDMI port on the PS3 to an HDMI port on a TV or monitor screen you will find that it has a graphic second to none. As good if not better than the XBox360. Of course you have toi have one of those new TV with an HDMI port on it.

the HDMI port makes no improvement to the graphics, if your console is running in 1080p it doesnt make a difference which way you connect it to your tv whatsoever. if you run the ps3 & 360 in 1080 they are virtually the same. the 360 has better lighting & it's dynamic range is better, the ps3 has slightly better textures on the main focal point in the game i.e the person you are controlling whereas the ps3 blurs detail on backgrounds i.e the leaves on tree's etc. so it's swings and roundabouts. there is no better console gameplay & graphics wise, for me xbox wins down to the online play factor.
