m8 washed his bike with soap and water
when he now pulls away 1st is as normal 2nd gear and all above it refises to rev and is spluttering and poping !
HELP

...its fatal washing them, should be avoided if at all possible
Its got to be damp leads surely.....give it all a squirt with wd40, all round the plugs, leads and coils

Check the plug on the instrument cluster...... pull it off and spray with wd40 ....... then go round the bike and doo all the other connections you can find

And check the fuel tank and carbs for water just in case

I did edit with a sensible suggestion
at a standstill it rev freely
going along in 2nd gear uowards it won't rev above 8k
on a paddock stand its fine in any gear and revs freely
my guess would be the little air pipe at the front is either leaking or has come off during cleaning
(goes from the air ram at the front passes through the right hand frame spar to a little resonator that sits between 2 and 3 sparky plugs)
