Call for Moderators

Hi All,

Please put your name forward if you have some love to give the EB community or wish to become an EB moderator. The continuing battle of spam and post/thread management is a big one (big thanks to existing mods!), so only dedicated "I sleep with my bike, my woman sleeps in the garage" bike-crazy people need apply ;)

As usual, names will go to a vote being the democratic family we are ;)

I don't want to be a mod (getting involved behind the scene stuff) I'm to busy on another site, but am around during all hours working nights on shifts, so if you want to create another user group I can delete the spammers and then log the ip addys or make posts invisible.

Where's Fall Off these days?, i know he has been lurking and he should have been called up long ago, not just due to the length of time he has been here, but also given that he is an experienced rider that has done more than his fair share for bringing some of the less experienced riders on :)

On the subject of being a moderator, the moderator control panel and its functions are the easy part, you could teach a monkey to use it,

The hard part is trying to remain impartial in any topic where possible (easier said than done :D ) and also remembering that as a moderator you are here to serve the good and benefit of the community, that might mean making decisions and judgements that you wouldnt normally agree with from time to time but ones that the wider picture call for.

If anything it can dampen the fun because when the forums are busy it can become a full time job trying to stay on top of it, bearing in mind as a moderator you have an obligation to read 'every' post regardless of whether or not the topic interests you ;)

Sorry I can't volunteer for this moderator malarky, I'd love to do it but I'm too hot headed, biased, and bloody minded :laugh1 but I'm good at having a dig if there's any call for that in the future :laugh1 in fact a couple of people on here could probably verify that I have a vicious tongue when pushed (well maybe more than a couple) but if proved to be wrong I do apologise.

You will get a pm asking you to seperate one topic into 3 and then merge them back again, if you manage it and it still makes sense you get to go to round two.
There is no round two, go to round 3.
Round 3, You have to put a member on mod preview then set them visible by hand, this member posts about 50 times a day, most of it is ****e, you have to decide if it is invisible because he is on mod preview or because another mod did not think it was suitable and has taken it down from view. Progress to round 4.

Round 4. A mod has given your mate a warn, you think the warn is a load of billix, do you stick by the modorating teams decision and back them up to your mate while calming him down, tell your mate it's a load of billix and you will delete the warn as soon as the heat dies down or throw a complete wobbler saying how everything is ****e and you don't want to be mod anymore if you have to give out stupid warning, then feck off and make another forum in competition and cray when nobody joins.

Round 5.
You have spent every minute on the forum sorting out problems in the mods section, you have not posted any advice in the main forum for a month because you have been to busy sorting out petty arguments, someone starts a mud slinging match and wants you out as a mod because it seems you have not been doing anything.
They are standing 60 yards away, do you go for a .22 air rifle at 18flb or a browning silver 12g semi?


If you answere correctly then it will go to the vote, we all vote for whoever has the biggest boobs :grin2


And then I get a warning for taking a serious conversation off topic and possibly mod baiting, although I get away with saying jizz!
