Short Short Version...

First time out on the bike since last August. USed the good old tyres I wrote my other race bike off last May. I was a little worried about the quality of tyres that old but after a bit of a shakedown test in the morning session things seemed to be ok and wobbled round getting used to it. Managed to qualify 4th in the Open race thingy. Not a chance of catching the 1st place guy on a spanking R1 but the Old F Sport 600 managed to pull me round in 4th in both of the 2 races. Was in 3rd for a while but after a few nudges into edwinas with someone and clipping the wall of the hairpin messed up any chances of me getting on the podium.

Still not bad for my first time out this year.

Qualified 4th.
Race one: 4th
Race two: 4th

Fastest lap: 59.25 (not as fast as last year but never mind)

Ah well that's the trouble with being a whipper snappa see. When youre an old fart, everything aches already and a few laps on the bike actually helps get the joints moving.:grin2

Fortunately you can't hear the creaking through ear plugs and a crash helmet.:grin2

Last year New Era didnt use it but i am led to believe other clubs do (i know BMCRC use it) :)

I would like to say that they did use it and then I would have had an excuse for my lap times but no they didn't.. Just the normal circuit with Edwinas and the Bus stop.

Don't be too hard on yourself Tark. You'd have won the Derby Pheonix 400 race there . (Just:grin2 )

Ha ha this is all very rich coming from the 400 rider who just lapped Cadwell slower than an arthritic ninety year old on a missfiring Vespa.:grin2

tark i could see you on the front row waiting to go out for practice while i/a nice scrutineer was pushing my bike back to the paddock, i would have waved but i was a bit busy swearing :grin2
