well that was fun, 36 mins of free track time :skip
big hugs to trouty who had a little off on redgate, giving us a nice little mid session rest :grin2
an awesome track, but with plenty to catch you out!
I spent some time with a CSS instructor on the demo bike in their tent and got some great advice. i was lucky enough to be able to try it out on the track before i forgot everything i'd been told :grin2 and my right kneeslider is now no longer merely kissed, rather proper dragged :grin2
now i need to get better at winding it on on the straights, oh and get faster on the corners, and get some balls, y'know all the little things....
i had a big old moment on the melbourne hairpin, i think my can may have dug in (my belly pan and link pipe are more ground down than ever) and i was nearly off. however i had my first ever grasstracking session and fortunately the grass was dry so i got back on the track ok.
photies to follow hopefully!

every time i get on the bike, i realise i'm doing something else wrong  !!!!
but bloody hell if i'm going to improve how i ride, racing is certainly the way to go about it... the learning curve is SO steep
i can even cope with ratchet straps now  and anyone who saw me at silverstone or the first rockingham day will realise how much of an improvement this is :grin2

I'm obviously very naive. Is a ratchet strap something you use in the bedroom? And what has it got to do with bikes?

mmmm... yeah... still no idea what happened there! ok, i was giving it a little pace - but not 'on it', it was on lap 5 or 6, and i went into Redgate on the same line, at the same pace, in the same gear etc etc as the previous laps and the back just went.
bike's come out pretty well, clip on, rearset, brake lever and seat unit trashed, but the rest is all ok including the fairings, couple of scuffs here and there...
annoying thing was the marshall. i tried to pick the bike up so i could either get going again, or get it further away from the track to stop the session being halted, but couldnt lift it on my own. marshall sat on his haybale and eventually came over to help me. lifted it off its right hand side and proceeded to drop it onto its left side! git!

Ugh, glad you walked away from it, the bike can be mended easier than you can!

maybe... but the NHS will fix me for free, and CICA will pay me out for any human breakages. Whereas bike's need money spent on them to fix them... :D

Will you be ready for Assen?
troutslayer

assen? No, cos i'm not going anyway!
i got 5 weeks of dev time, which i'll probably squander until a few days before oulton, and then decide to look at clutch, belts, valve clearances and timing... :D

Isnt that normal run of the mill club racing attitude then? :D
From what i see its a case of work all week and prep the bike by candlelight, then turn up late o'clock with stuff still to do and try to get it all done before the spannerman turns up the next day? :D :D
Then shuffle around all weekend worrying over 20 minutes of racing per day, whilst the spannerman shuffles around for the weekend worrying about the bike and stuff like transponders etc :D :D
Not to mention getting ****ed wet through watching the racer try to break the bike on the track :D :D
