Hi im new at this forum and i need some help with my Yamaha Tzr125r Belgarda 4dl.
The problem is that my rev-counter wont work, sometimes when driving it jumps up to 5 and maybe more from 0. It doesnt work properly. My other problem is the topspeed the bike wont go faster than 140-150km/h even though its de-restricted. I installed the Ypvs valve correctly and removed the rpm limiter, the acceleration is pretty good but not the top speed. Could it be the sprockets? The original mainjet is 165.

Please help me.

What top speed were you expecting?

Hi mate,
I am new here as well, but I seem to remember somewhere that there are two orange wires attached to the ignition coil on your TZR they both connect in the same place. One triggers the coil the other is for the rev counter. Check and make sure one has not partly snapped through. this may also effect your speed issue also, if the coil is not being triggered correctly. Just bought one of these for my son, the previous owner said it wouldn't rev past 5k. Got it home threw away the k&n filter fitted the correct air box and sorted the air leaks and straight up to 13k no problem. Rattled and clanked abit so stripped to find main bearings and seals shot, having crank professionally rebuilt as nta to do it myself. Good luck let us know if this helps.

93mph isn't that shabby! I know some people say they get 120 out of them etc etc but it is only a 125. Like said before; try and trace your cables back to the ignition coil to solve the rev counter. If the wiring is ok it might be the internals of your clock.
