I know several of you guys have these, my Eldest Son Andy is considering buying one, your comments on this? He is 19, on 2 wheels since he was 16, full licence 2 and a half years ago, so off restriction. He has been on an NC30 since then, and I think he is quite good on a bike (certainly better than me!)

Do you think a TLS is a good move or a bad move, is it gonna bite him?

I haven't ridden one myself but i know they have some serious grunt!!! might be a bit too much!

Depends on how sensible he can be, in the wet on Monday I was constantly spinning up the back wheel, and getting it sliding out, not ideal for a novice.

i would recommend he get a little more experience under his belt first!
they are fast and aggressive and use a lot of fuel and tyres.if he wants a V twin tell him to get a smaller one first like a Sv 650.
but if hes not likely to listen like i didn't tell him to have fun be be carefully coz its all about being smooth

Cheers Mi5ter E,

Had a couple of pm's from Doodles, we are coming to the conclusion a VTR might be a better bet. Less vicious, a bit more forgiving, he is used to NC30 with the forks dropped about 10mm handling, is a VTR going to corner well enough for him?

It wont corner like an NC30, but will still feel like a rocket in comparison.
