Put it in here as it is slightly to do with bikes....

Been at my new job 2 days now and I’m getting quite worried!!!

For a day and half I have been preparing the paper work for shed loads of court cases! About 99.9% of them have been motoring convictions.... a couple of GBH, Rape, drunk and disorderly etc

As for the motoring convictions they have been the usual like speeding, no MOT, no Tax, driving without a licence (seems to be shed loads of those!!!) and a couple which are stupid...

Unclean light lens
Broken light lens
Smashed glass on car wing mirror
etc etc

(1 funny one was a guy on a moped riding on the M11, and down the hard shoulder :laugh1 )

WHAT IS WORSE!!!! Is.....

About 70% of the motoring offences have included NO INSURANCE!!

I knew there were a few out there without insurance but this is crazy! Literally I came across about 70 out of 200 without insurance! And that’s just for Basildon/Grays. (Trials are between next week and Sept so offences have happened I guess in the last couple of weeks)

So work it out as about 4 caught a month, in 1/2 towns in 1 county. Think about how many there must be if only a 'few' are caught!!!!

Ride safe guys and girls!!!

How are they getting away with it, I thought no insurance meant you can't buy tax, and (trust me on this) they find you real fast if you have no tax.

ah but once you have the tax on the vehicle there is nothing to say you have to renew the insurance if its due for renewal after the tax is there ;)

I have no idea mate, but you can have tax and mot without insurance if you purchase them at different times....

Most of them have been caught due to being pulled over for other offences... speeding, careless driving etc then when a PNC check is done, it comes back with no insurance.

So, to get rid of these scum we need 24/7 digital automated cameras catching EVERY infringment, including speeding.

Sod that ;)

The others were caught by speed cameras :laugh1

Amazing how many people play the.... i'm soooo sorry, i've never done anything like it before, just split from the misses, i have 12 children to feed, i live in my car/work portabcabin, need the licence for work so i can't afford to pay fine/get points.

Thats fine.

Start by chopping off their little toe.......

Lets be honest, since cameras now do the majority of the on road policing, it has become alot easier to get away with things like this.

Thats no good! I couldn't be assed with sorting everything out if |I was hit by a driver un insured..

Oh and 70 out of 200 is 35% not 70% but its still 35% too many!

Is it not also the case that your insurance becomes invalid if you have no MOT or Tax? It could be that everytime they stop an untaxed vehicle they are, by default, also driving/riding without insurance?

Yes that is the case, however there were still many just done for 'no insurance' and not for,,,, no mot and no insurance etc

Your insurance does not automatically become invalid without an MOT or Tax, but in the event of a loss the insurer will refuse to pay you for your damage if they can prove that your vehicle was unroadworthy, although they would still pay for the 3rd party losses.

Dammit, Tark beat me to the 35% thing.

I bet a lot of the things people are caught for invalidate their insurance. I k now of 2 people recently being done for no insurance. One was a genuine mistake, it had run out 3 days previous. And the other used to have cover on other people's bikes. But when he renewed, his insurance company took it off without telling him. He was pulled for speeding, and bam, no insurance.

Ive just renewed my insurance and once again, by going online and pretending to be a new customer the quote was lower! Thats the 3rd year running. I rang my insurers and, for the 3rd year running, they lowered my premium to that I was quoted on line. WHAT A RIP OFF

We just need more ANPR camera's out there, not gatso's! I can't see a problem with that, as im always fully insured, taxed mot'd etc!
