deciding time...new bike

right i took a loan out to buy my J2 i now owe £1660 on the loan, not sure that its worth but i recon about £1600, side panels are colour matched but not orignal scheme, few bits need tidying has done 27,000 miles... now my interest rates have just shot up so i wanna sell it and pay the loan off, and idea was get finance on a new bike plus new helmet and leathers, i spose highest for lot would be £4000

i cant decide on what bike, prob looking at £3500 for bike, rest of some budget gear, ive been looking at 00-01 r6's and gsxr's
any recomendations, what years of r6 had the weak gear boxes?
i dunno if the gixxer would be what id concider a more fun ride

My dads mates with the guv at johns of romford so he said he might be able to get me a good deal but they dont list their used bikes on their website and i cant be arsed to drive up there...urgh its such a hard decision...

The old which bike should l buy question. The last time this question was asked, it got so lively and almost personal at some point. If you want a good read m8, do a thread search for "new GSX600R" OR "new bike" or look through R1_TEZ threads where you would find the last lengthy discussion on the topic. I am sure you would find some answers there.

Get a Gixxer! On a serious note though i've seen a few 2004 r6's for 3500, you've got loads of options for that money

Well there you go fella! i've had a bike from berik at pole position & it was mint, he's really fussy on what he sells, he wont sell crap bikes but he can be a bit tight when it comes to knocking a bit off the price, had no probs with my cbr that i had from him though.

Pete at just bikes gets some nice bikes in as it happens. He tries to stay away from newer stuff as there are so many other dealers nearby doing the same thing.
He did have a really clean RR2 blade in a while a go I nearly had off him. Rode really nice aswell. And remember, he has been around forever and knows his stuff.

id have it off you if when i tried to get an insurance quote on one they say

"we cannot process you're quote"

basicly "no chance mate"
