Some complete retard stole my tax disc... AGAIN! This is the third time now! I am going away tomorrow. What happens if I dont have it displayed but get pulled? They will know its taxed wont they?
God damn theving scum bags!
They should know if its Taxed or not............you could get done for failure to display
I never put my original Tax Disc on the bike, its at home in the envelope, I photocopy it and write copy on the Tax Disc across the Bar Code, then if it get's nicked I've still got the original. Don't know if this is legal or not.

I'm not sure where u stand if you dont have your tax disc jay,
I dont have mine on my gixxer for this reason i've had it nicked twice,
i have been stopped without it displayed but it's in my rucksack & so can prove i have tax, but there is still this offence called
"failing to display a vehicle duty license (tax)"
Iv'e not been hit with it yet for what i do but i suppose i am offending in one way or another, I think it may also depend on the plod that pulled you too, but with most motors being pulled only for anomolies in the ANPR system i think unless your driving like a plank & attracting attention you may be ok....... but a call to the dvla in chelmsford might be more help.

You need to report it as stolen to the old bill and then you can quote the crime number if you get pulled. Go at a quiet time to the police station or it takes ages.

nah it was because he was too idle to go and get it taxed that day :D :D
Quite bizarre we just had a visit from the local patrol to our office and i asked this question to clarify it :D
Putting a copy of a tax disk in will just get you a fail to display fine because its got to be the original, it can't be impounded if its registered with tax either :)

that depends where you go, North Wales is a tight as a gnats chuff when the law is applied to bikers and most bikers up there are about as welcome as a pork chop in a synoaogue :D
however down in Central Wales (around the Abergavenny/Brecon area) where the better roads are, they tend to be okay :)

Nothing special about that day, I'm just bone idle ;)
Jay, you are very unlikely to get collared for not displaying, especially as they will check the DVLA computer to see what big brother says. All this is assuming you actually get pulled over, which is unlikely if you ride sensibly.

If you are going to the Brecon Beacons you need to have a wander out to Llandovery and Abergavenny, there are routes round there that make the Burnham bends look like a Tesco car park, 30 plus miles at a time of twisties that give you everything from fast sweepers to downhill hairpins :D
And best of all you tend to see cars pulling over to the side every time they see a bike in the rear view, they quite happily wave you past :D
The iceing on the cake was out in the sticks when you come across a road that has bends that 'could be' taken flat out and a nice welcoming sign from the Welsh Police informing bikers to make sure that they ride within their limit :D

I think given the fact that I still cant walk properly and that I have JUST repaired my bike ill be takin it fairly easy. Im going to have a laugh take some pics and vids etc. Dont wanna fall off. I have even been good and put the baffle in! :)

if you are riding, whats walking got to do with anything ? :D
arms are fine for guiding the bars, knees are fine for gripping the tank, as long as the toes work for the gears sod the walking :D

This is the reason why I have decided not to put the tax on the bike any more, I'm not even going to photocopy it, just leave it at home in the envelope it came in, safe and sound then no div can nick it.
