So what has your dealer said and/or more importantly done about it ?

The bike was transported back to dealer. It was whislt my fella was there today (alfords Folkstone) that he rung and told me what it was --- soooooo I then checked a few forums and 2 Gixxerjunkies have had same prob and another forum I use , a guy has a mate who has had the same .
(Alfords have fitted a new throt bod.)
meanwhile I have contacted Suzuki --to ask if this should be a recall if not why not .. till my fella has *bonded* with bike now, its a bit like riding with thumb on Kill Switch --*just incase*
Must say all the posts I have read have been problems on start up ....... running at 4 -5,000rpm. Not heard of it happening whilst riding . but I wotn let up with suzuki now till I am happy with there reply.

while the bike is still under warranty the TB should be replaced unless unauthorised modifications have been done , its not a recall prob

MIck I am aware it should not or was not or is not a recall ... but now having found on varuious sites 7 people having the same problem ..there fore 7 people is seven too many and Suzuki should make all dealers aware of this problem --when it happened with our bike --we rang dealer --he said ring AA (as we have a year subscription with them _) which we did --the guy came out , and as bike started up ok --he said just take out for steady ride and see how things go .. That throttle can jam on when cornering etc . Suzuki MUST be aware of it -- our dealer was NOT hence the AA man had no idea . after transportation back to the dealer and them running checks they came up with the fault --its since then that I have checked all the forums I use and now found 7 people with same prob .. --so how many more --who do not use a bike forum -have internet access ect --and why dont the dealers know of this problem ...... sorry Ranting

Trouble is Mick, Suzuki being Suzuki, as the bike has been resprayed they can easily knock the warrenty. (claiming paint in the throttle body probably).
Also, the early srads had a spate of sticky throttle bodies, but that was never a recall either.

fair comment gixxergal you could try getting in touch with suzuki directly or another course is print off all the other cases of the same problem ,send copies to suzuki and to the dealer where the bike is , it might just make someone sit up ok its just a thought, or if not try trading standards because the item is not doing what it was purchased to do but its worth a phone call

Hmmm so it was a recall after all......... The new throttle body they fitted when I posted this thread has now had to be replaced two as the dealer took it from a showroom bike that came under same recall.
I did ring Suzuki too (after getting the recall letter) and told them I informed them by email in July that this could be a potential hazzrd etc and their reply was - ours was a ONE OFF < yer right!!!!!!
The guy who I spoke to since never had a lot to say for himself ! pfft
