Evening all, just installed my new horn.
I was fed up of having a p***y horn that people can't hear/don't listen too. I was using my blueflame zorst as a horn in the end. After being reversed into a few months back (guy reversed into me - my horn was on the whole time, me and bike to floor - he drove off and said he didn't know he'd hit me - even tho i punched his boot!!!)
It was time to stop faffing around about how 'pretty' the bike looks, been a tart for a few years back and now i'm not /that/ bothered, so its time to sort out essential bits...
1. new 40% extra brighter headlight bulbs for £8 off ebay, bargin and MUCH brighter
2. Braided Hoses (arrived tonight)
3. New horn - 136db (so they say) (http://www.nippynormans.com/prodinfo.asp?number=STB-MAG&variation=&aitem=1&mitem=5)
The horn arrived this evening so started about wacking it on, went on pretty easy! Had to remove;
mirrors,
nose cone
headlights
speedo
fairing mount/stray
horn guard
horn
Wanted to bolt the horn on to the orginial bracket but it just wasn't happening so used one it came with, which was much better as you could bend it.
Bent it into place, bolted it on, (and in paul fashion - a couple of cable ties to make sure it was stabley stable :laugh1), tested it, everything back on easily.
Conclusion
Doesn't stick out
Easy to instal
When you look for it, it doesn't look ugly
Only takes about 30mins to instal
As for the loudness, not 100% sure yet as i couldn't test it properally - being in residential area and at 9.30pm, but what i heard i liked. Will give it a proper blast 2moz on the way to work!
So far well worth the money!!!
