Meet the stars at the Open Paddock Show!
In less than three weeks time the Corona Extra FIM Superbike World Championship returns to Brands Hatch for the biggest bike event of the year, taking place on 3/4/5 August. Before the action starts on track you will also get the chance to meet all the stars of WSB during the Open Paddock Show on Thursday 2 August.
From 2-6pm you will have the opportunity to meet your heroes when the lower paddock is opened to the public, allowing you to catch up with your favourite riders during one of the scheduled autograph sessions.
Britain's James Toseland is currently leading the championship and will be pushing hard for victory in front of his home crowd at the famous Grand Prix circuit. The Honda star always enjoys the atmosphere at Brands Hatch and is looking forward to meeting fans at the annual open paddock event before the racing kicks off:
"I can't wait to race at Brands and I'm looking forward to putting on a good show for the home crowd. The Open Paddock event is always really good. It's free to get in on Thursday and it's the best chance the fans will get to meet all the riders and get stuff signed. We all get really busy after Thursday so it's definitely worth coming down."

They are getting very cunning with the Pit Pass - stuff. for a start of if things go to plan the pit lane Walk about is approx 40 mins -- (if on schedule) and £20 a ticket (for WSB -£10 for BSB). 90% of peeps buy the ticket --and when they do eventaully open the gates their is one mad rush and tickets are not checked anyway .. then having raced to your fave riders Pit desk .. No one is their .. you wait and wait and wait --then told riders are still in a media Room or running late . So if and when the rider does materialize and you battle your way back out of crowd behind you -to try and see any other riders .. The marshals are Saying Time up and moving you all back to main are .... a complete con grrrrrrrrrrrr

An official campsite will be operated by MotorSport Vision from Thursday 2nd August at 9am. This will be open until midnight Thursday, then opening again at 6am Friday through to Monday 6th August (noon), and will be chargeable at £20 per person regardless of length of stay. Camping tickets are only available to purchase in advance in 2007. Children 12 and under go free.
The area will contain toilets, showers, waste containers and lighting. Water will be available at various points within the campsite areas as signposted. Entry to the campsite will be via the Airfield entrance off the A20, and this will be manned 24 hours a day by security.
Upon arrival at the venue, campsite users will be directed to park their vehicles in a designated car park adjacent to the campsite. The parking area will be manned by security on a 24-hour basis.
Campsite users can make their way by foot or via one of the shuttle services (for people and light goods) to the access gate onto the campsite. All campers, upon production of a valid ticket, will be issued with a wristband, allowing unrestricted access to the camping areas throughout the event.
Campsite users will be directed to pitch within designated areas, allowing for access ways for use by emergency/official vehicles. There will be a family area, a motorhome area and a tent area.
Prohibited materials, such as fireworks, firewood and paddock bikes will be confiscated on entry. Barbecues and gas bottles are allowed.
Campsite users will be able to purchase essential food and drink products from a shop within the campsite. There will also be a store selling camping gear, and mobile Catering outlets will be operational. A secure helmet and leathers park will also be provided within the designated bike park (subject to availability).
An official campsite will be operated by MotorSport Vision....................gas bottles are allowed.

Its really up to you, I'm getting there on Thursday :D if you want to be there at 08:00 that might be OK, I cant really suggest a time because I might be wrong, Brands are expecting a large crowd so I would find out what time the gates open and get there for then..................

Put it this way, last year down at Clearways, we got down there at 07.30 i think to put the chairs out, by 09.00 it was completely rammed.
The only places that dont get packed out for WSB Brands is the GP part of the circuit, all the main corners and stands will be shoulder to shoulder with people and them ridiculous 'wendy house' affairs people put up to sit in :D

All the "good" spots will go early. If you take a wander in the woods and watch the GP section of the track there are some excellent places to watch, only problem is that you are miles from food or toilets.
So take some sandwiches and water the trees :).
The worst part of the day will be getting out of the carpark at the end.
Last year I was staying in MilleUk's caravan awning along with lateshift (and our ladies before anyone starts!). We sat and watched the queue of people leaving, it was murder. If you hang behind until most people have left, you fly home though, plus you get to watch some more racing :)

Yep, everyone legs it after world supers, hang about and enjoy the rest of the racing, the grounds empty out, and the tunnel get cleared up. Much easier.

We went back to the caravan and had a barbeque :)
I cant make it this year as I have a stag do to go on (not too sure how clever that is with concussion?!?) but I would either leg it the minute the race decision was made, or sit and watch a couple of extra races. Its kinda wierd being there as everyone leaves and the place gets deserted.
