Can anyone tell me who they think is the best for all round breakdown cover. All feedback greatly received.
I need to get some done sooner rather than later.

none of em m8,
i tried rac & i got AA cover with my bank account & it always take too long to get to ya, & when they do they are bloody hopeless!!
i had 1 occasion where i told them the problem on the phone & so to send a tow truck,
1.5hours later a guy in a van pulls up so i tells him the problem he gets out a multimeter & goes "yep youre rite" you'll have to wait an hour for a trailer!!"
I said Bo***cks & got a m8 to come get me & if i'd paid membership to them rather than a perk of the bank I'd ave told em what a bunch of incompetant monkeys they were!!
similar storeis with rac only they broke a fairing when they strapped it to a truck!!
but thats just my experience with them

SniffBritannia Rescue 08705 636237. I've had my bikes (and cars as well when I gave in and did the car test) covered with them since 1985 and no complaints so far.

NCI.
Ive tried the others and the service they offer for bikes is laughable.
NCI however are excellent, never been longer than an hour before I've been sorted, first rate.

Ive got AA, but because i ride a Ducati ive never had to use them so I couldnt comment on the service.
they are a bit pricey though.

Dunno who mine is with as it's free with my insurance but hopefully I'll never need them.
(plus I have free cover with Suzuki as it's a new bike)

I would'nt think any of them are any bettter or worse . We have been with NCI for about 5 years --never had to use them untill we went to a Media day at Brands back in march --when my fella left parking light on on bike !!! no alan key and thanks to all those that did try and help -- .. anyway back to topic --I rung NCI about 2.30 (They must be based in Ireland) She asked for the post code of where we had broken down --Now I know I am blonde but ffs --if we had broken down on a long ride how the fek you spose to know the post code -- I explaimed over and over again that Brands hatch is a top race track in kent etc etc --anyway she said an hr -- then it went to another half hr -- I rung again (battery getting low on phone by then -cos of all the *press No 1* things etc) at 4.30 we were well peed off........ and lo and behold a RAC van went by who we flagged down in 2 seconds seat was off bike jumped and away we went. I rung NCI when we got in --inteding to tell them to cancle and when I got through the the relevant person she said sorry but the break down van has broken down they will be sending another --that may take up to an hr <!!!!!! by then time would have been 8 pm ! I told them to cancle the lot and our premium -- we happen to be with AA now .... had them out 3 times to a K7 that was under a week old !! (its sorted now though)

Yes immobilzed .......I hate alarms and immobilisers, nothing but trouble, even if it isn't till a few years down the line. Better to have a bike so grimy that it would coat the thieves in crap if they even leant on it:laugh1

I've been a member of the RAC for several years although I had to use them for the first time a couple of weeks ago when my bike wouldn't start at home one morning.
My call was answered on about the second ring and the man was with me within half an hour. Sorted the problem and away 10 minutes later!
It probably doesn't matter which service you're with, just the timing with how busy they are and the luck of the draw with the mechanic that turns up. I just prefered RAC because they covered both my cars and bike at a cheaper price than the others!:clap

The reason I use NCI is because they always send a vehicle capable of carrying a bike straight away. AA and RAC usually send out a normal van first, and then if you cant be repaired you have another wait for a bike van.
I have had to call out for help on many occasions and NCI has so far been head and shoulders above the others.

I cancelled my membership with the AA 'cos they changed their terms & conditions last year.
They'll no longer attend and recover you if you have an accident. It was buried in the small print on a renewal slip.
Confirmed with them on the phone that was the case, rang RAC and they still do, so went over to them.
From personal experience, you can't knock Britannia Rescue. Used 'em far too many times when I was younger in and out of London every day :/
im insured with MCE (switched over from insurance on the CG125) and when the 'courtesy' dodgy CG was given to me and broke down outside my other halfs, i phoned the breakdown company and they were there within half an hour.. :D
A quick jumpstart, and the bikes back to life and i could ride home, though at one point, i had to carry around a backpack with a jumppack in it as i didnt trust there bike.. turned out it was a faulty battery:shooter
Cant complain of the breakdown cover though seeing as it comes free with my insurance (technically insured with Norwich Union):grin2
