Well the R1 died just over the seven bridge. The exup valve was at fault. My mate rob had AA cover and pretended it was his bike. We managed to get the R1 a mile up the road to the services (where u saw us sitting). Scott who owns the R1 was picke up by his missus in the truck while the rest of us waited for the AA. So 2 hours later they arrive with yes the wrong type of truck for a bike where the AA man proceeded to look at the outside of the bike before diagnosing it with a fueling problem.... MORON! So then 3 of us leave and sprint down the M4. 100 miles later near the m4/m25 junction Rob who has the mini gixa signals me to pull over. His back wheel was nearly locking up. We stripped it down at the side of the road checked the chain, sprokets bearings etc. All were ok. It seemed gearbox related. So now rob calls the AA again. Asks if we can wait for the R1 to catch us up and stick the gixer on it too. Nope no can do. So then we wait another 2 hours for a mechanic who knows nowt about a bike to turn up. Finally as you see in the vid me and jamie on the SV650 set off making it home just before 9! Both bikes arrived at the same time on trucks in maldon by 10.30pm! What a day. Neither bikes are fixed. We have stripped the R1 exup down cleaned tightened and rebuit. It runs fine but stutters every now and then so hes booked it in to be looked at. The gixa hasnt moved yet as the poor fella's clutch went on his car the very next day! Gutted :(
