i have mixed news.

The Good News:

Bikes running! (wayhay..) though i must thank doodlebug for repeatebly mentioning the skip, as through both anger and the fact i love to prove people wrong.. (plus the fact ive bugged my uncle and dad for the last month) the bike now runs! Its almost completely rideable, just need a new throttle cable as its sticking, so either the cable or the spring (?).

Strangely the manual seems to have the ignition timing wrong, as set up properly the bike refuses to spark and start.. though set a 1/4 of an inch out and it fires up straight away, and the points were like that on the spare engine i got too.

Strange.. turnt out to be the tension cable from the points that seems to of caused the problem..

Also, i got a nice lump cheque through for 540 quid for new gear and loss of use in regards to my insurance claim, so another stab at a full license is going to be booked as soon as i pay the cheque in:grin2

Bad News:

Looks like im going to be back on the road soon!:grin3

And possibly (hopefully/maybe/desperately/thinkingbribery) have a full license before my cbt runs out:D

hi ya,glad to hear ya got it running, try loosing the screws on the handle bar throttle housing a bit to see if that works, might just be nipping the cable and causing it to stick ? if that works clean it all up inside and lube it up and put it all together again. have you got a cable oiler ? if not get one of those and lube the cables up if the ends are in good nick i.e. no frays. if i had one id bring it up.(its on the shopping list honest)
