Only for the first year then they want to charge for an extended warranty.

plus they have said up to 4 weeks for them to come out to me and i have no indoor Ariel so I'm looking at a blue screen

Just buy a freeview box with built in 160gb hard drive and save loads of money on crappy sky subscriptions.

Kev.............Phone up Sky and get them to fix it, the same thing happened to mine, warranty had run out, but they replaced it for £60 odd.
Its worth a go.......................

I had same problem a few weeks ago, sky packed up...
phoned em and they wanted 40 quid call out to fix... Told em bo**ocks and threatened to cancel, as we'd been with em for soooo long..
They came out next day and gave us a brand new sony box worth somewhere in the region of 400 quid...(didn't have to spend a penny)
Just tell em to cancel the contract and they'll cave in...

So what happened then? Got new box or repair job? Ive still got an old box under my stairs if still needed. Any one want an old box?

sods law got a replacment off ebay (local to me) and the old ones been behaving its self
(maybe the old one has eyes and has seen me take a hammer to a few things b4 and deside to be good)
